Another retitled port of the SNES The Blues Brothers game for a system that had previously received the original The Blues Brothers title, this time for DOS computers. Amusingly enough for a title based on characters of a music band, this version of the game suffers from some disasterous sound programming.

Broken Music

Due to technical issues, the sound engine seems to struggle with the MOD music tracks of this game, initializing them at 8khz and resulting in sound issues like crackling and popping. One of them is even played faster than it should. Uncompressing the two MOD files used by the game and playing them through a sound player able to reproduce MOD files evidence how the compositions should have sounded under normal conditions.

300px EVERY.MOD. Used on all game levels. Based on The Blues Brothers song "Everybody Needs Somebody to Love".

Unused Music

Aside from the aforementioned issues with the game sound engine, there are three MOD music tracks present within the game files which are completely unused. They seem to be based on similar sounding tracks from the SNES version, which were scattered through the different levels of that version of the game. But for some reason, the DOS version only uses a single track for all levels.

300px BARTENDE.MOD. According to the name file, it seems to be loosely based on The Blues Brothers song "Hey Bartender".

300px PETERGUN.MOD. Based on The Blues Brothers song "Peter Gunn".

300px SHOOT.MOD. According to the name file, it seems to be loosely based on The Blues Brothers song "Shot Gun Blues".
