The Cutting Room Floor:Content to expand
This is a list of games with known content, but no article on the wiki. Once they have an article, they go into to do or to investigate.
If you know of something in a game that's not here but don't have enough knowledge to write about it (and there's no article, or the article really sucks) feel free to add something to the list here and hopefully somebody can look at it. Try to include the details you know to make it easier (websites, codes, etc.)
Before adding something here, check out the common things page to see what not to add.
Once an article is created, move the information for a game onto its page, optionally using either of the to-do or investigate templates depending on what needs done.
The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening sums it up best:
Here is your clue. Make all the red blue.

Multiplatform Games
- A lot of Chrome Engine games have debug menus. There are trainers out there specifically to enable these, since they are usually disabled in the retail games.
- CensoredGaming has given TCRF permission to use their content. einstein95 has made "a pastebin of the changes shown in the videos, sorted by game" and he is "[s]lowly removing the ones already on the wiki".
- Choro Q games, in general, have a debug menu or two. Here are some for the PS1 and the PS2.
- Namu.wiki, a Korean wiki, has plenty of examples of unused data not here on the wiki. Loads of Korean games here we're missing.
- YouTuber Shesez has a whole series called "Boundary Break", which exposes things normally not seen by players in various games, but rendered by the game. Here's a playlist for the whole series.
- Platinum Games tends to leave early/test content in their games. Check over:
- The Silent Hill series is barely present here on the wiki. These are some helpful resources.
- Games made with the SCUMM engine tend to have debug modes. Some of them have already been found.
- The same is true for AGI and SCI games.
- 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue has unused music and a text document that says "Dummy file."
- Alice: Madness Returns has unused models and unused voice clips.
- Asphalt 8: Airborne has stats data for Lamborghini Reventón, which previously appeared in Asphalt 7.
- Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance II has a debug menu, at least in the PS2 version.
- The Bard's Tale has a debug menu, which can be accessed in the Xbox version.
- Bastion has some unused narration.
- Battlefield 4 probably has some early content that might be worth poking around in.
- BattleHand has a debug menu.
- Beyond Good And Evil went through numerous changes in development (ESPECIALLY at the last minute.) Some of the more obvious ones are documented here, but surely there's much more that hasn't been covered.
- Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 has some unused music.
- Bloodrayne has a debug menu, at least in the GameCube version.
- Brave Frontier has a debug menu (at least in the Android version).
- Build Away! - Idle City Builder has a debug menu.
- Bully has a scrapped mission that needs documenting.
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has, again, MW3 leftovers, as well as a whole bunch of cut perks [1].
- Call of Duty: Ghosts has some unused voice files and MW3 leftovers [2].
- Card King: Dragon Wars has a debug menu that can be put back in with a mod.
- Civilization IV and its expansion packs have a lot of unused graphics.
- Crimson Dragon might have had a debug display, as can be seen in some prototype/pre-release footage.
- Castlevania: Lords of Shadow and its sequel have debug menus. (source 1, source 2)
- The PC and Amiga versions of Dalek Attack apparently have hidden credits
- Dead Rising 3 PC modding revealed that there is a cut sniper rifle model, low detail, from DR2. There is also a Cutman head weapon model, most likely a planned combo weapon. Weapons somewhat functional, video here [3]. On top of that, promotional items like Frank/Chuck outfits as well as Nick's Sports car are all found in the PC version, but with no way to enable them without mods. In the game files, there are two combo sounds: One for making combo weapons, another for making combo vehicles. The one meant to play with combo vehicles plays for making both, but the alternative one can be heard occasionally due to a glitch [4].
- Destiny has a wealth of content worth provoking, whether it be glitches to get into future DLC areas, or unused voice clips.
- Dungeon Keeper (iOS, Android) has a lot of debugging stuff left behind, including some hints of a debug menu.
- FTL: Faster Than Light reportedly has an unused "ghost" species for crew members.
- Gladius has a debug menu, confirmed for the PS2 version.
- Guacamelee! has at least a debug menu. Confirmed for the PS3 version, not so sure about the other ones.
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban (GameCube, PS2, Xbox) has a debug mode and an unused level.
- Hay Day has a debug menu.
- Hyper Light Drifter has unused enemies and bosses in its data. Some video of those enemies and bosses can be found here. The video's author also comments on how to access these. There are unused maps too.
- Killer7 has some unused sound clips of Kevin talking, some debug menu in the GC version, level selects and unused music.
- Lovely Weather We're Having has a debug mode, apparently code "777"
- Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars may still be written in HTML5, like it was in prerelease form/s. If it is, it should be pretty easy to find unused content and developer comments.
- Marvel Mighty Heroes has a debug menu, enabled through hacked APK files.
- Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds apparently contains empty character file references to Frank West and Dr. Octopus, as well as a plethora of sound clips which go completely unused, including a light hit KO clip for Zero, a few alternate lines for Dormammu, and a VERY overdramatised death cry for Galactus amongst numerous more.
- Medal of Honor: Frontline and Medal of Honor: Rising Sun have "tons of unused models in the game's folder. Most of the models are in .bsp extension"
- Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes has some leftover content from Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.
- Mirror's Edge has a lot of Unused content (Weapons, Levels, Enemies, etc.). It also has an anti-piracy method.
- Some versions of Moto Racer 2 have the Yamaha branding in it. (Revisional or regional change?) The PC version has a anti-piracy related to gearbox that caused headaches for re-releases.
- There's a lot of cut content in EA Sports' NASCAR games. In NASCAR Thunder 2003 Tim Fedewa's car is shown in some in-game videos, in NASCAR Thunder 2004 Tony Raines was cut, and Bill Elliott was cut from NASCAR 06: Total Team Control. There might be mentions from many other drivers as well that just didn't happen to be in videos.
- Something possibly worth noting as well in NASCAR Thunder 2003: In the Daytona infield track, a fully uncensored Winston Cup Series logo can be seen.
- Mortal Kombat: Deception has a debug menu. DeepGameResearch managed to access it, but with not much info. It also contains an unused voiceset intended for Young Shujinko, implying he may have been programmed to learn the moves of other fighters, and may have possibly been fully playable at one stage.
- Need for Speed (2015) may have some unused stuff in it.
- Nier had debug stuff in it at some point in development. There may be some leftovers of this in the final game.
- Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee has some test levels and a debug menu.
- Ori and the Blind Forest has a debug menu. A trainer can be used to activate it.
- Persona 4 Arena Ultimax may have more unused content that are still present from the first game. There's also art for earlier versions of the character select screen.
- Poker Night 2 may have unused audio; these unused clips have already been found.
- Primal Rage - most ports of the game have various things hidden in them, such as debug modes and random sport minigames.
- Rayman has some unused graphics and stuff.
- Resident Evil: Revelations has two widely-available demos. The "pilot" version included in Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D appears to be an early prototype. The "trial" version that is downloadable on the eShop, also has some interesting differences. It may be easier to look for unused content in the Windows port, rather than the original 3DS or the remake consoles.
- Retro City Rampage may have an unused cutscene portrait meant for after unlocking CommanderVideo. This may not be in all versions, though.
- Another thing worth noting is that Splosion Man was supposed to be in the game at one point, the actual mission he was supposed to be featured in is still in the game, but Splosion Man is replaced with an original character named Sweat Bomber.
- Finally, while it isn't unused, almost every version of the game features an "NES prototype", see if it's possible to extract the ROM to dig for unused content.
- Ride to Hell: Retribution, because the game basically is a debug menu.
- There's also evidence that the PC version was going to include a completely new DRM system named Silverlink.
- Saw has some unused content, like some unused player characters and Dr. Gordon's scrapped appearance.
- Shovel Knight has some debug menus. Additionally, there are over 300 cheat codes, some with unknown functions.
- Skylanders: Trap Team has debugging stuff.
- Smash 4 - Spreadsheet with list of text/files?
- Sniper: Ghost Warrior has a debug menu, which can be accessed in at least the Windows and Xbox 360 versions. It's unknown if the PS3 version has it too.
- Soldiers of Fortune II: Double Helix was altered in the German version to make all the humans robots.
- Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is said to have incomplete character data for Billy Hatcher. He was meant to be playable, which explains why he does not appear with his friends at Chilly Castle and why he doesn't appear as a hologram at Race of AGES, but his data was never completed because the devs couldn't come up with a good vehicle design for him.
- The console and Vita versions also have incomplete, unused data of the PC-exclusive characters.
- Sonic & Sega All Stars Racing has some unused voice clips.
- Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode I has an Xbox 360, a Playstation 3 and a Windows prototype and some of the features from the prototypes were used in mobile versions of the game, among other platform differences.
- Steven Universe: Attack the Light has an apparent debug menu.
- Street Fighter IV (the original edition) contains 3 unused voice clips by the announcer. 2 of which were "Dee Jay Wins! and "Thunder Hawk Wins!", implying that both characters were planned to be playable before Super Street Fighter IV, while the other was an ominous warning about the "character colour" changing.
- To add on to this, Super Street Fighter IV: Arcade Edition features unused animations for a number of characters, including a command throw for Dan, a very early kicking throw for Ken, 3 unused Super concepts for Abel, a down MK body splash for E.Honda, and a ridiculous amount of unused concepts for Oni. It's highly likely that many of these (save for Oni's content) are present in the original Street Fighter IV, a video showing all of them is here: [5]
- SWAT: Global Strike Team has a debug menu too. It's been enabled for the PS2 version.
- Tap Tycoon has a debug menu.
- The Fairly OddParents: Breakin' Da Rules has a unused music file that was meant for "A Dog's Life" and a "Get A Wish" music file that doesn't fit in any episode.
- The Talos Principle has anti-piracy measures and hidden messages in QR codes.
- The Urbz: Sims in the City apparently has unused accessories.
- TimeSplitters/TimeSplitters 2/TimeSplitters: Future Perfect (give or take maybe) - Unpublished cheats (Jul thread)
- Tomb Raider: Underworld has a test level.
- Tony Hawk's Project 8 has a debug menu. Here's a picture of it.
- TowerFall Ascension has button/controller icons for Ouya, Xbox 360, and PS4 controllers, all of them left in all of the versions of the game.
- Turok (2008) has a number of unused levels, including some used for testing objects.
- Two Worlds II appears to have a debug menu in all versions.
- UFC Personal Trainer is built off of, of all things, a cancelled Saint's Row game. Check if there's any remnants.
- Unturned has unused graphics and revisional differences.
- Van Helsing (PlayStation 2, Xbox) has a debug menu. It's been enabled for the PlayStation 2.
- Wheelman has a debug menu.
- Zork Grand Inquisitor has dev messages/credits and more, as well as IMNOTDEAF (unknown function) and 3100OPB (shows current location?).
- Doctor Who has lots of games officially licensed by the BBC (as well as unlicensed games), there has got to be some unused stuff here.

Apple II
- According to programmer Steve Baker, Sporting News Baseball has "hidden secret pics and animations, but it’s been so long I have forgotten the 'keys' (to activate them)."
Mac OS Classic
- Ares has revision differences between the Changeling Software and Ambrosia Software releases. There may be unused stuff only in the Changeling Software releases too.

Commodore
Commodore 64
- This thread from 2008 mentions a lot of unused things in various C64 games (sprites, hidden messages, other crap). Someone with better knowledge of old C64 games than me should check this thread out (I only code the C64, I don't play it...). The guy who ran The Games That Weren't has a blog post about this, plus more.
- A tape loader used in various games (Sanxion, Mega Apocalypse, etc.) apparently contains the string "HACKERS FUCK OFF AND DIE" (of course this doesn't show up in most/all of the cracked versions that have completely different loaders). By extension, the string probably appears in a number of different games. I wonder how that should be handled?

Commodore Plus/4
- Quite a few games have hidden text.
Amiga

Microsoft
DOS
- A handful of other Origin games have confirmed debug modes.
- Commander Blood has some unused movies and graphics that would later be used in the French-only sequel Big Bug Bang.
- Eye of the Beholder was rushed, leaving a clearly unfinished ending, and some items and level sections which apparently were going to be used on the full ending. There is a fan patched version (v1.9) which restores a bit of it.
- I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream was heavily censored for its German release. Nimdok, one of the five playable protagonists, was removed in his entirety. The German intro cutscene omits Nimdok in the roll call, and any scene where his cage would be present along with the other protagonists' has been edited to remove his cage. Nimdok is not selectable when choosing a character, and is therefore rendered unplayable. Because the game still checks to see if his route has been completed before allowing you to finish the game, the German version of IHNMAIMS is unwinnable.
- Knights of Xentar, the US localization of Dragon Knight 3 has regional changes and a censored revision.
- Leisure Suit Larry 7 has some unused graphics in general (even in the demo version).
- Lemmings has lots of demos with a single new level, exclusive to that demo. Also if I'm not wrong, the last level is exclusive to each system, so the PC and Amiga versions have a different last level. Also the version can be checked using "VERSION" as level code, but for some reason the earliest version of the game won't recognize it. Maybe they didn't plan to make newer versions?
- Pac-In-Time has leftovers from Fury of the Furries.
- Push-Over has an unused music track.
- Redneck Rampage has at least one instance of a hidden message (e.g. Down the blocked-off road in the first level; "Did you really think there was something here?").
- Sid Meier's Civilization has revisions. For one, later copies added a button to rename cities.
- Test Drive III: The Passion has a fully fledged track used in the main menu, but only a small portion of it is actually seen. There are also oddities in two of the other maps and some weird stuff.
- Theme Park was rushed out the door, so there are some unused graphics lying around. Extractor + info here.
- Tiānshǐ Dìguó II has a hidden sound test and some apparently unused music tracks. Info here.
- Torin's Passage has a fair amount of unused stuff.
- Transport Tycoon, Transport Tycoon: World Editor (featuring the scenario editor and exclusive mars alternate graphics set) and Transport Tycoon Deluxe have some unused stuff and some interesting version changes, such as the original release having real life vehicle names as opposed to fictional ones (The supersonic plane being called Concorde instead of Yate Haugan). Allegedly, this was a change pressured by the American legal department of Microprose. There is also plenty of interesting prerelease stuff, such as the early unreleased concept version. OpenTTD has an article though.
- X-Com: UFO Defense has at least an early demo showing the original title (X-COM: Terran Defense Force). Also the several versions and releases of the original game may show various changes.

- GonzagoGL, the Spore prototype, has a lot of unused content, like a pretty well-programmed tribe, city and civilization stages, unused models, including an aquatic stage Willosaur, and others. Also might be good to find a way to actually play the other stages and find out what sniff test actually does.
- Gunbound has a few prototypes lying around somewhere.
- The Hall of Tortured Souls (hidden game in Excel 95) has a picture of the developers accessible by doing a 180 degree turn and typing EXCELKFA.
- Homeworld has a debug menu.

- Iji: an early build was released on March 21, 2011 as part of Scrap Pack 2.
- Ishar when played on DOSBox 0.74 gets a weird glitch, it shows a language selection screen which shouldn't appear, as far as I know this game is only in English. Were the translations scrapped? Are they just currently lost but the English version contains files for other languages?
- Island Xtreme Stunts has a cheat mode and a cheat menu.
- Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius (Windows) has many, many, MANY misplaced objects, items, locations, areas, and other oddities that are accessible with a walk-thru-walls exploit.

- Odium (aka Gorky 17 for you crazy Europeans): I've only taken a quick glance at the game files. There was lots of commented-out dialogue and some removed enemies, but I haven't played that game for so long... There's definitely unused goodies to find in there, though.

- Terrordrome - not finished yet, but demos (v2.5, 2.6, 2.7, and 2.8 as of October 2012) can be found on sites such as Mediafire with differences. Official site here.

- Wing Commander: Prophecy also has a debug mode.
- Worms 3D has a couple of weapons that only appear in some versions, or don't appear in any version or... or something like that. Examples include the Ming Vase, Concrete Donkey, and Mega Mine.
- There are some unused soundbank speeches in Worms 2, Worms Armageddon, and/or Worms World Party (needs more research).
- WWE 2K15; there is a lot of unused content in the game.
- There's a file called GM.pac, which might contain the code for the "GM Mode" featured in SvR 2006 to SvR 2008.
- Some functionality exists for mixed gender matches.
- A few features were removed in this game; they probably still exist in the code somewhere.
- Zombie Shooter 2 hhas the same cut content as in AS2, except the LIBERT pistol is finally found in-game. Game promised a chainsaw before release, incomplete weapon found in files, it is extremely glitchy. Very early copies of the game had you rescue your wife even as a female hero, patched out in later releases so female heroes rescue their husband.
Xbox
- Kingdom Under Fire: The Crusaders has an early debug build that predates the final by one year.
- Phantom Dust has a debug menu, accessed by renaming mainmenu_en.ssb to mainmen_en.ssb and menu1_en.ssb to mainmenu_en.ssb. Here's the source for this info.
- ToeJam & Earl III: Mission to Earth had DLC support, but since the original Xbox's Xbox Live support is long gone, said DLC should be documented. Also, the game itself has two unused cinematics:
- CaptureTest.sfd, a short gameplay clip of ToeJam running back and forth
- opening.sfd, an early version of the startup video. It is missing all of the logos sans the title logo, and the title logo uses the font of the first two games, and is missing the "Mission to Earth" subtitle
Xbox 360
- These games have known, available prototypes with varying degrees of completion and debugging features aplenty:
- Crackdown; the leaked build predates the final release by three years.
- Dead Space 2.
- Forza Motorsport 2.
- Lost Planet 2.
- Lost Planet: Colonies.
- Final version has a debug menu.
- Dead Rising There is an entire channel dedicated to DR modding/cut content [6].
- Motorcycle Club also has a debug menu.
- The Outfit had some developer photos used through development, which might still be in the game. Info here.
- Resident Evil: Racoon City has a debug menu too.
- Wheel of Fortune has a ton of unused voiceovers that likely also apply to the 2012 PS3 version (due to THQ's bankruptcy in December 2012, these are unlikely to be used in DLC).
- Puzzle categories that are rare (Headline; Fictional Family shortly before it was merged with Fictional Character{s} into simply "Character{s}"), haven't been on the show in years (Best Seller; What Are We Making?), or never existed on the show (Classic Rock; Where Are We Going?). Among these are eight former categories well known for offering cash bonuses, including Next Line Please, Where Are We?, Who Is It?, and Slogan. It should be noted that the categories present in the game are taken directly from the show's official category list, given to contestants...which is clearly outdated.
- Variations on "Sorry. All the consonants are gone and no one solved it. That money will go unclaimed." This is used in the Wii U version if everyone has less than $250 and cannot solve the puzzle, though.
- Wheel dollar values that either don't exist ($475; $4,000; $10,000) or have not been on the show in decades ($275; $2,000).
- Intro voiceovers of "Something seems strange. Have we been here before?" and "Well, now this brings back some memories.", labeled PAT_BANTER_INTRO_RETRO. (These might be used in the "1980s set" DLC, though.)
- All of the above sound files are Pat's. Vanna's sound files contain explanations for a minigame called "Pick One", and mentions both Circle Pads and Analog Sticks; this may indicate that a 3DS version was in the works at some point.
Xbox One
- Rare Replay has a massive amount of Revisional Differences for pretty much everything Pre-Grabbed by the Ghoulies. Mostly to remove mentions of whoever initially published the games. It would probably be best to hold off on this until it's actually possible to dump Xbox One games though.
Windows Phone 7
- COLLAPSE! has lots of unused text.
Windows CE
- Solitaire (which version?) has hidden developer credits.
NEC
PC-88
- Several games have unused music tracks, including...
PC-98

TurboGrafx-16
- Devil's Crush - is sound 40 ever used?
- Alien Crush, Cyber Dodge, Cyber Knight, Xevious: Fardraut Densetsu - do they have this sound?
- Lady Sword has a hidden developer diary in the script. The translation for it is in the readme for the translation hack.
Nintendo
NES
- Do any of the following have debug modes? This follows from my (andlabs') observation that early Now Production games (at least on the NES and Genesis) all have debug functionality left in:
- Lots of released prototypes from Lost Levels
- All Night Nippon: Super Mario Bros. may have leftovers from Super Mario Bros. The Lost Levels, as it runs on the same engine.
- Armadillo has a special game mode (called "Stone Armadillo" mode, which apparently slightly adjusts physics, palettes, and other things) that can only be accessed when used with the rare "Famicom Battle Box" accessory. The extra menus that can be accessed with the accessory installed should also probably be mentioned on the wiki, as well.
- Chubby Cherub and Ninja Kid were stripped of their Japanese licences when released in the US.
- Erik the Viking's NSF file contains leftover sprites, presumably from the unresurfaced game.
- Family Trainer: Rairai Kyonsees - early prototype has a different fullscreen picture of the girl, which was uglily redrawn in the final version.
- Hello Kitty no Ohanabatake - unused demo recorder/player containing recorded demos for levels 0, 3 and 12, which are totally incompatible with the final versions of the levels (or the level numbers themselves were changed).
- Jangou a lot of code duplicate from an early revisions, including graphics, check if there is something different
- Karnov - Japanese version has an intro and three different endings, all of which were removed from US release
- Power Punch 2 - unused tilemaps with indexes E0-E7 for unknown screens.
- Spider-Man: Return of the Sinister Six small pieces of unused logos "amazing spider man", more unused parts of logos, the whole block of spiderman sprites crawling on the ceiling, a lot of other characters leftovers
- Super Pitfall (NES) - unused graphics
- Taiyou no Yuusha Firebird a lot of unused cut-scene graphics, emotions, one more unused cut-scene transformer graphics, they present in the tilemaps too, can be restored somehow
- Ultima III has some unused NPC sprites, including a jester.
- NES Open Tournament Golf is known as Mario Open Golf in Japan and has lots of differences.
Famicom Disk System
- Hello Kitty World has unused music and a hidden sound test.
NES (Unlicensed)
- Most of Hummer Team's fighting games have unused characters.
- Doraemon has some unused graphics, some of which are Somari leftovers.
- Earthworm Jim 3 has lots of unused music.
- Harry's Legend has lots of unused graphics and a couple unused enemies, including remnants of Rose.
- King Neptune's Adventure has a prototype with multiple differencs. (See Nintendoplayer.com for details)
- Pocahontas - a debug rom has been released here.
- Pocket Monsters Red and Pokemon Gold have some weird unused text.
- Shin Samurai Spirits 2: Haoumaru Jigoku Hen, among other unused stuff and leftovers from Garou Densetsu Special (the whole packed level tilemap library), has an unused fighter select screen inside the hardwired tilemaps only featuring 8 characters.
- Silver Eagle unused name "AMADEUS WANG" for the staff
- Super Contra II
- Unused menu leftover from a 17-in-1 cart by Super Technos.
- There is an unused level select, too.
- Tasac: CHR banks 2 and 3 are identical and contain totally unknown cut-scene graphics, probably an ending, but there are no tilemaps for it
Game Boy (Color)
- Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle 3 was originally a Kid Klown game, similar to what happened to The Real Ghostbusters (Game Boy), under the title Soreyuke! Kid: Go, Go, Kid!, but unlike the last Gameboy game featuring Kid Klown, it got released! (Also a lot of regional and game differences)
- Burai Fighter Deluxe has unused item graphics.
- Castelian has regional differences. (game title, title screen, protagonist sprites, songs)
- Dragon Ball Z: Legendary Super Warriors has unused graphics.
- Dr. Mario has a prototype (appears to be near-final).
- A prototype ROM of unreleased game Infinity has been released online, along with the source code, by developer Affinix.
- Maru's Mission has many regional differences, mostly consisting of graphics.
- When Maya the Bee & Her Friends was localized for the US, it was apparently hacked apart and released as two games, The New Adventures of Mary-Kate & Ashley and Mary-Kate & Ashley: Get a Clue!. Look through the ROMs to see if there are any leftover South Park content like what's in the Maya the Bee article.
- Does Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Children: Shiro no Sho (White Book) have anything, like its counterparts?
- Spot: The Cool Adventure has regional differences.
- Survival Kids seems to have unused items and "item get" icons. here is a little listing to get started. There are also some version differences (intro being unskippable and more item locations in general on Japanese version).
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III: Radical Rescue has regional differences. The Japanese version's map has four types of point-of-interest icon, instead of a generic one. Also have a debug leftovers, more info here [7]
- Tetris Blast replaced the soundtrack in the American and European versions, the fight mode bosses also have graphical differences. Super Bombliss DX is its Japan-only update with Game Boy Color support and a puzzle mode.
- Woody Woodpecker Racing has regional differences. The Nintendo logo goes unused in the Japanese and European versions, and all of the Japanese characters from the name selection screen go unused in the American and European versions.
Game Boy (Color) (Unlicensed)
- Harry Potter 3 has graphics for a...clown?
- Pokemon Jade crashes after the first level, leaving almost the entire game unused. There might be leftovers from Sonic Adventure 7.
- Pokemon: Mewtwo Strikes Back Post about possible beta material that Makon Soft / Yong Yong would have probably left in with (Although, this may not have much possible purpose in with the Li Cheng ROM, with them possibly taking out (unused) stuff, keeping from their programming fix to work.) Also, post about the intro differences, between DMG and CGB/GBC. In the DMG intro, Makon Soft / Yong Yong (probably) stole several frames of the intro, from Pocket Monster (SNES), however, in the GBC intro, like every Pokemon game of theirs, except Pokemon Adventure, they of course, use pictures from the anime. The user, XanverKun, posts a YouTube video of the Li Cheng cart about the DMG intro. It's probably assumed that even probably the original Makon Soft / Yong Yong version has this too, with the intro. However, no proof. But most likely, it probably does, sense Li Cheng barely probably would remove anything from the ROM, in their revision ROMs. I, Chowdit1, will probably remake the video in better quality. Also, as a side note, Li Cheng translated the game's name (in Chinese Simplified), as "Digimon (Digital Baby) {Taiwanese name for Digimon} [Shu-Ma Bao-Bei]: Mewtwo (Super (or 'Surpassable') Mew Mew) [Chao Meng-Meng] Strikes Back [Fanji Zhan]. So, it's exceptionally correct, but except for the series name.
- Shui Hu Shen Shou has menu icons leftover from Pokemon Gold and Silver
- Terrifying 9.11 apparently includes an unused Metal Slug logo (the game is an unlicensed, 9/11 themed port of Metal Slug for Neo Geo).
- Thunder Blast Man has a few sprites leftover from Rocman X Gold
SNES
- Battle Racers has two unused tunes, one of which is a jingle.
- Battletoads in Battlemaniacs has an enemy named Nestz listed in the game's manual, but doesn't appear anywhere in the game. Its sprites may still be in the ROM.

- Hokuto no Ken 6: Gekitou Denshou Ken Haou e no Michi has unused character portraits.
- James Pond II: Codename: Robocod apparently has regional differences: [9] [10]
- Super Wagyan Land 2 has a test level.
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters has regional differences and a prototype.
- Whirlo - Regional differences (main character now is angry), strange password system (many passwords valid to European/Japanese version crash in the other version, and there are passwords considered valid that crash in both versions), and a secret level.

- Pokemon Gold Silver has leftover graphics from A Bug's Life, as well as leftover text from Lemmings and unique anti-piracy measures.

- Avatar: The Last Airbender: The Burning Earth has bits and pieces of development/debug text.
- Cabela's Big Game Hunter (Game Boy Advance) has a debug menu.
- Drome Racers has several interesting cheat codes.
- Fire Pro Wrestling has region differences. The US version recolored various wrestlers due to potential legal issues (the Japanese original used blatant takes on actual performers), also the WFW and WWC promotions are renamed to APW and AWG.
- Mega Man & Bass is a port of the SFC (SNES) version, but only a few graphics were redone to fit the screen. Some graphics were untouched, causing part of them to be off-screen and normally not seen. It may also contain the unused content from the SFC version.

- Rayman Raving Rabbids has been reported to have a severe bug that may only occur in the USA release.

- Yu-Gi-Oh! The Eternal Duelist Soul's Japanese version (Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Master 5: Expert 1) has the Mobile Adapter GB standard library in its ROM, but there are apparently no mobile features in the final game.

- Tales of Graces has dummied-out artes: Sophie's Final Fury and Blast Heart, and Cheria's Innocent Shine and Meteor Storm. Either playable or sound-only, there is a huge amount of them. There also seems to have traces of a certain "DEVD," thought to be a missing character (much like PAT in Vesperia). It has also revisional differences.
- Tony Hawk's Proving Ground has files for a test level and a test video, and various remnants from the Xbox 360 / PS3 version.
- WarioWare D.I.Y. Showcase has two different games in the Japanese version. "Punch-Out!!" was originally "Card Hero", and "Kid Icarus" was originally "Freshly-Picked Tingle".
- Wii Chess has regional differences.

- Might have unused monsters and maps as well.
- Feel the Magic: XY/XX has some unused graphics for an alternate ending. Info here.
- Final Fantasy Tactics A2: Grimoire of the Rift has unused Grenades type weapons from the unused Transmuter Nu Mou Job, which was to combine items for abilities, but with 19 usable items, there were over 300 combinations and therefore was scrapped at the last minute. Job might be in the game, but the Grenades are present and semi-usable.
- Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings has debug menu text but it's no longer readable in non-Japanese versions, since it's all replaced with "????". It seems to have options for HP/MP. Also find a way to re-enable it.

For example, the rainbow pen is in the DSi version, but not in the DS version. Kanji and character vocalisation is in the Kanji Sonomama version, but not in other versions.
- Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure (Nintendo DS) had an entire bonus chapter removed at the last minute before it was released in America. The music from that chapter is still in the American ROM data, but who knows what else was left in?
- Scurge: Hive - For the Prerelease namespace: This and the following pages have plenty of Scurge: Hive sprites from one of the makers. There's lot of stuff I don't remember having seen in-game, except during a rare glitch I never managed to reproduce, can someone help me sort it out? Also, some files have a name implying they contain sprites from one of the scrapped enemies, but I can't get them to display properly. Also, graphics in trailers are visibly different; HUD, title screen, etc. See discussion on the old talk page.
- Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey has Dummy and placeholder demons (I say placeholder because they appear to correspond with all the demons (and humans) that you talk to out of battle) with corresponding sources and a bunch of unused and Dummy items.
- Sonic Rush Adventure has regional and revisional differences.
- Sonic Colors has a debug map, like the other DIMPS Sonic games for DS.

- To be discussed: non-patch updates for download-only games.
- Various games have downloadable demos, which sometimes have differences from the final game for the sake of length constraints and simply to show off various aspects of the game. Whether or not these should be covered is debatable, as it's unclear whether or not some of these are actually prototypes.
- Bravely Default's demo could probably be covered as a whole other game, however, considering the fact that it is a whole other game.
Wii U
- A way to disable sleep mode is on the external hard drive.
- Miiverse had debug features. The way to access them may have been removed by updating the HTML or by a system update. But there are leftovers of some sort. Not sure if this should go on "Wii U" page or "Miiverse (Wii U)" page.
- Are the Wii software rerelease ISOs different in any way?
- GBA Virtual Console Games have code leftover from other projects and Adobe Photoshop. (source: ajd4096)
- Some games have internal names (source: Random Talking Bush)
- To be discussed: updates for download-only games.
- Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune very likely have a plethora of unused images and such for the online gameplay features they trumpeted in promos and even on the boxes but never actually delivered. Also, given that these were THQ's last games before filing for bankruptcy a few days later (probably why they suggested the consumer pay $20 more for inferior products), they might have some other unused stuff that may overlap with those of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions.
- NES Remix and its sequel (naturally) have Famicom-related regional differences. And the emulations are likely to have differences as Virtual Console games do.
- Wii Fit U has had three patches. The current version is 1.3.0.
- The DS Virtual Console binaries have unused development text.

- Lots of Genesis games in general, thanks to drx.

- Aquatic Games might have some region differences. On my Mega Drive, in 100 Metre Splash, Pond makes some splashes on the water, as well as the accompanying sounds when he runs fast. This doesn't happen on Gens with the US version of the game. Region difference, or emulator flaw?
- Barbie Super Model has a prototype with multiple differences. (See nintendoplayer.com for details.)

- Darius II/Sagaia - GameFAQs doesn't seem to have a clear idea of what all the cheat codes are? Super Hard Mode triggers a string SPECIAL MODE, for instance... Also are zones Z1 and Z2 used? Also this
- Chou Kyuukai Miracle Nine appears to have a debug menu of sorts:
00038A:60 (bypass checksum) FFED84:30 (set game mode) 0065B6:4E71 (nop out rts blocking the menu)
- Not sure if it is used or not or if it has an effect as pressing start after disabling the RAM code just brings you back to the menu, so I have to see if it's supposed to come from elsewhere by disassembling all the game's code :/
- I'll probably remember this by tomorrow morning but: Final Blow has the red Taito logo; it's loaded to VRAM (also I have to see how strings are stored in that game; it looks like the game can pick and choose characters to load and where?)
- Feng Kuang Tao Hua Yuan has a block of either unassembled helper code or compiler assembly output, not sure which... but the present dump is not from the original cart, but from a mainland China(?) "rereleasse" so I'll wait until we can get an authentic dump

- Mahjong Cop Ryuu - A+Start on title screen

- There's a flag that if set to nonzero, the game loop will enter an endless loop that cycles through each of the big-board animations that can show up; check at $13DA and loop immediately afterwards, checks -$6EA1(a5) where a5 is $69C (yeah it's one of those games)
- Turns out many, if not all, of the Extended Play Productions games have these symbol setups...
- Hellfire: "M2612 SOUND REAUEST TABLE "/"ERRORS=0000"/" 0221 END"

- Dragon Ball Z: Budokai features unused audio clips intended for the World Tournament mode which imply 3 extra characters were planned. There are also rather significant differences between US and European versions of the game, the latter lacking a dub track and featuring a totally different (and unintentionally hilarious), far more literal translation from Japanese.

- Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty has a demo/trial edition that came with ZOE, with a cheat cart you can use the FAMAS that was shown in early videos/screenshots but ended up being cut from the final version and more [15]. A few scenarios which are either incredibly obscure or totally unused can also be found in this video, and given how absurdly comprehensive the Metal Gear games are normally, I'm positive there's more waiting to be uncovered.

On an interesting note, the VS character select screen (Quadra) was apparently a scrapped theme directly from Ridge Racer V.

The fixed one is the one that matches what's in Genesis ROM sets, and the executable makes no mention of ps2tnei.bin but it does mention the fixed one...and the two ROMs look to be very different with a 1:1 comparison (will need to do a diff-like comparison)

SNK
Neo Geo
- Plenty of debug modes to document here.
- The King of Fighters '94 (Neo Geo) - When Rugal is removing is jacket in his intro animation it's possible to remove the jacket sprite layer early on to see a smiley yellow tatoo on Rugal's back for the sprite used only in that moment; maybe not worth noting here, but if you use dipswitch settings to control jacket Rugal and hold the ABC button to charge power he'll turn invisible because the CPU never uses that for that particular version of Rugal.
- Thrash Rally has different car and opponent names depending on the region. The title screen song (a shortened version of Rally England stage song) is also cut off.
