Hi! This is a list I'm making as a sort of dump of things to be added that don't have full pages yet. Sort of a "I know there is something here, but we need to work on it" type of things. These pages don't even have articles; if they did, this would be better with something like Template:Investigate and/or Template:Todo.

If you know of something in a game that's not here but don't have enough knowledge to write about it (and there's no article, or the article really sucks) feel free to add something to the list here and hopefully somebody can look at it.

Items on this list should be removed whenever they've been sufficiently documented and article-ized, with any remaining information put as templates.

NES

  • Dr. Mario has some unused ending sprites, hopefully some other stuff.
  • Super Contra X has an unused Micro Genius logo and some tiles that spell out a copyright message for TXC Corpoation.
  • Totally Rad has regional differences not yet in the wiki
  • Somari
    • Unused sprites and music.
    • Scrap Brain Zone remnants.
  • King of Fighters '96
    • Unused/leftover music and graphics.
    • Has 13 unused characters and and good number of unused cutscenes.
    • A glitchy JY Company logo can be accessed by pressing: Down, Down, Left, Up, Right, Left, Up,and Down, on the title screen. It is possible that JY Company was going to publish it but didn't.
  • The Panda Prince
    • Lots of unused graphics and unused levels.
    • The Game Genie code AANGAIPA changes the game to a scapped Chinese mode where most in-game text is all in Chinese and the title screen is different.
  • Super Donkey Kong
    • Massive of amounts unused music and sound effects.
    • There is a hidden test menu which can be accessed by entering codes XIXALEXG and GTXEPAGV into a Game Genie. After the title screen it brings up a test menu which has a level select, sound test, demo viewer, level designs viewer. (Using the level designs viewer crashes the game)
  • Super Contra II
    • Unused menu leftover from a 17-in-1 cart by Super Technos.
    • There is an unused level select too.
  • MOTHER
    • Early graphics/version differences with the english prototype. Some info is
    • [1] here and [2] here.

SNES

  • Famicom Tantei Club: Part II
    • We need to figure out read that text; Tomato told me about it long ago but I never found it
    • There's a lot of "changed" graphics using sprites in some places; e.g. a background clock replaced with a sprite one
  • Clock Tower
    • Some unused items
    • "Changed" graphics like FTCp2, at least one of which is the hole in the wall where Jennifer's dad is
  • Star Fox 2 I didn't get everything that's been said, but there's supposed to be a prototype or something...?

Genesis

  • Toy Story (may need to have the system name appended)
    • Has a MOD player and a MOD. Not cut, but still interesting trivia
  • Lots of Genesis games in general, thanks drx
  • andlabs's "so I don't forget" list of things to look into:
    • Crusader of Centy's prototype, US final, and SK final has stuff from Beyond Oasis/The Story of Thor, which came out more than 6 months later (wtf)
    • Mahjong Cop Ryuu has a sound test; not sure if it's unused or not
    • Chase HQ II plays one song in the ending but Super HQ plays two? (region difference)

Game Boy (Color)

Game Boy Advance

  • Golden Sun and Golden Sun: The Lost Age
    • Debug areas, at least
    • Several unused items in the first game -- even if you can get them in the sequel, they're still unused
    • Could probably use some fine-toothing here too
    • More research in general, the articles need some serious expansion
  • Mother 3 has LOADS of unused stuff.
    • Unused menu the fan english translators undummied
    • Kindness stat
    • More music
    • Levels
    • Sprites
    • Text

Nintendo 64

  • Donkey Kong 64 has a demo version with some very surprising differences to the final. It also has some kind of test room involving walking... Rareware... logos... Obviously, I lost all the information.
  • Jet Force Gemini is supposed to have some kind of test map.
  • Turok 2 - Seeds of Evil has an awesome demo version.

Sega Saturn

  • Sonic Jam has an unused piece of sidewalk behind the waterfall in Sonic World, and unused music and sound effects.

PS1

  • Tomba (Or is it Tomba!?)
    • Has a lot of unused items.
    • Has a few unused graphics on the CD, I think?
    • Has a map selection utility, too, I think. (It does, right?) Along with some unused map references?
  • Silent Hill. Yes, I know there's a page on it, and I know what I said at the top.
    • There's a whole lot of stuff buried on the disc. Some of it's found, some isn't
    • There are some demo discs floating around that have different layouts for some things
    • Some unused areas on at least the Midwich School map, and probably others knowing this game
      • Some of them are documented in a YouTube video (named "midwich.wmv", I think? It's really badly done though)
      • It would be nice to have 3D models of these areas ripped, since it'd be clearer than in-game

PS2

PSP

  • Ys 7's conveniently-left-in header files, complete with developer commentary (!)
  • Sonic Rivals has a test room, and some text that refers to ten other test rooms that aren't present in the final.

DS

PC

Hommlet and the Snake Pit in Nulb. These are restored in the Circle of 8 mod series for the game.

  • Iji
    • An early build of the game was released on March 21, 2011 as part Scrap Pack 2.
  • Plants vs. Zombies (PC) has unused graphics, sounds, and text, and version diiferences between the original and the Game of the Year Edition.
  • Pingus has lots of unused content, and lots of version differences.
  • SuperTux has some unused content, and lots of version differences.
  • Pretty much every Humongous Entertainment game ever made.

Adobe Flash

  • Club Penguin
    • Unused items, graphics, and music/sounds. Check the SWFs.

iOS

  • Plants vs. Zombies has unused stuff from the original game.
  • Sonic CD has an unused video called that shows various animation sketches.
  • Any SEGA game that uses "iGenesis" has similar strings to the unused string that was in Sonic the Hedgehog.

GCN

Wii

Arcade

Commodore 64

  • This thread from 2008 mentions a lot of unused things in various C64 games (sprites, hidden messges, other crap). Someone with better knowledge of old C64 games than me should check this thread out (I only code the C64, I don't play it...)
A tape loader used in various games (Sanxion, Mega Apocalypse, etc) apparently contains the string "HACKERS FUCK OFF AND DIE" (of course this doesn't show up in most/all of the cracked versions that have completely different loaders.) By extension the string probably appears in a number of different games. I wonder how that should be handled?
