This page details prerelease information and/or media for The Reign of Cats and Dogs.
The Reign of Cats and Dogs was to be a "3D action/strategy hybrid" that was planned for the Nintendo 64. Development was completed in 1998, but ultimately went unreleased partly due to lack of programming language knowledge by developer Jeremy Townsend and apparent publisher disinterest.
Description
A prototype 3D action/strategy hybrid in C++ on SGI Performer, intended to be published on the Nintendo 64. I was responsible for project design, team leadership, 3D character and level modeling and animation. My first foray into the commercial games field, fresh out of high school and determined to be an artist, code be damned! Actually I ended up seeing this project fail, partly due to my lack of programming knowledge. The design and prototype are definately sweet and this baby has some excellent marketing potential. I hope to dig it back up one day and make a mint from it. My work on the project was done in Softimage3D, Alias Wavefront PowerAnimator, GameGen2, and Photoshop. This game is copyright Paradox Games Inc. so to see movies of it you'll have to see me in person (trust me, it is way cool! Especially given that we made it in 1998).
When his website was updated sometime in 2008, this was later changed to:
