Hello! I'm Vanalker. In the future I will help The Cutting Room Floor to have more content and missing information. Currently I will edit very rarely on normal pages, but someday my brain will get faster and help you!

About me

I'm Vanalker. I'm from Sweden. I'm messing around with many games to make my own content and find unused content. On this site, I will only help you adding missing information about unused content and debug menus.

Currently I'm messing around with Beetle Adventure Racing to find unused content and other things. Below you can see a history of the newly discovered content. This "messing around" project can take up to 14 years before I quit, but normally it just takes some years to do that.

History

Beetle Adventure Racing

  • 2012-07-05: I hope I find more unused content here. Or maybe not.
  • 2012-07-05: Beetle Battle was known as Bug Hunt in the beta version and there were 9 ladybugs instead of 6. The three missing ones are still in the game.

To-do list

Hmmm...
To do:
Something that needs to be done someday.

In this list, I will put some stuff I need to add in the future.

Pages that doesn't exist yet

This list is still in the works
  • Zoo Tycoon, PC, 2001
    • Unused objects
    • Version differences: The logo was very different than the final one
    • When should I continue the searching of cutting room floors?
  • Zoo Tycoon 2, PC, 2004
    • The Staff Center has an artwork for a Beta Staff
    • Unused Models
    • When should I continue the searching of cutting room floors?

This list will be updated when I find more unused stuff that is from a game which it's page doesn't exist yet.

Pages that does exist

Nothing at the moment. I need to search for unused stuff. Will be updated in the future

Test page

Age of Empires II

Hmmm...
To do:
If you want, you can make a real page of this? Then I will only search for hidden content. Not finished at the moment

The sequel to Age of Empires. It got an expansion too.

Unused Text

Searching around the folders of Age of Empires II (if you have the expansion too) will reveal some test strings. They use the same name as the

Goldeneye 007

Hmmm...
To do:
Section was cancelled

You have a golden eye? Then shoot Bond to play as him!

Beetle Adventure Racing

Hmmm...
To do:
This is a test page made by Vanalker. He will test his edits here. Please don't edit anything; or Vanalker will be mad.

Some unknown guys steals some Beetles, which causes Mario to chase them.

Hidden content

Hidden objects

Among the tracks in the game, you can find hidden objects. They are not seen in the game at all without using the Debug Menu. They can be found behind trees or other areas. Here is a list of them, from the point when the first one was found to the point when the current one was found.

After their discovery, Vanalker will write his thoughts about the objects. Sometimes the descriptions will be changed if more information were found or if the spelling has to be changed.

You are allowed to edit this section. Just look at the picture and change the description if something is wrong. Find more? Then post them here.

The Leftover Trees

Leftover Tree.png

Coventry Cove has a tree hidden behind the hills-up section. This tree has nothing to do with the course. Actually, the tree is from an earlier version of this course, when the track did not take the hills-up section.

Friend With Leftover 2.PNG

Not only that, but there's another leftover tree in Coventry Cove. This one can be found near the lap counts part (where the mill and the flag is too). The track did go a different way when it was in development; the first leftover tree part was connected with the road that turned left and then just right into the bridge. The second part was when the hills-up section was a shortcut; you had to turn right and end up in an area with houses, boxes and trees. However, both parts got removed, but the trees survived this.

Wooden Object

Inferno Isle Goes Unused.PNG

A wooden object is hidden in Inferno Isle. It's west of the pirate section. This could mean that a shortcut was planned here. It would begin close to the pirate section. You would then see a wooden road. You would then end up on a bridge. Water was below it. After a while, you will end up getting out of the shortcut where you could take the shortcut that goes to the jungle hut or the main path. However, since this object remains, it could mean that the shortcut was cut when the game was still in development. Viewing this from the top is impossible, as the object disappears. This means that only the sides and the back are visible. Notice that this object uses the same model and the same textures as the train rails, which could mean that a shortcut was below it and the train could go above it.

INTRO asks you to load objects

Hmmm...
To do:
Post a picture if it is needed

The INTRO tracks that you can see in the game's intro has some objects that is normally used by the courses you see in-game. The reason why they are loaded is that they are part of the track's animation. The finish-blocker objects are loaded too.

These objects were found outside of the INTRO border:

  • Coventry Cove: Finish-blocker, part of the track, the mill and the flag, air balloons
  • Mount Mayhem: Finish-blocker, the helicopters, the animated UFO objects
  • Inferno Isle: Fire-objects, Finish-blocker (it is unknown yet if there are more)
  • Sunset Sands: The underground shortcut, Finish-blocker, Fire-objects, part of the track
  • Metro Madness: The buildings far away from the INTRO border, the train, Finish-blockers
  • Wicked Woods: The animated haunted door, Finish-blocker (it is unknown yet if there are more)

ps this will be changed sometimes

Hidden features

The Blue Parkade Sky =

Parkade, like the other tracks in the game, has a light blue sky (although some of the other tracks uses different ones) that is never visible due to it taking place inside the "Parkade" section of Metro Madness, but without the entrance and the exit as well the different coloured floors.

Unused track models

The game has actually 6 tracks in single-player and 9 multiplayer tracks in-game. The INTRO tracks can be seen in the intro, but they are not playable unless you use the debug menu or the unused track code. There's also some models for some other tracks that are not playable yet. MULT10 can be played, but there are some other tracks jumping around the game that only can be seen using the MODELS viewer. Use SCENE editor when in MODELS and select TERRA. Zoom around with the camera to see the track.

Parkade "Car Select Beetle Battle" Area

This is the area that you see when selecting your car in Beetle Battle. The model itself is from Metro Madness. It does not have the objects before and after it, however.

Menu tracks

In the main menu, you can see a track that looks like Mount Mayhem. This track does exist as it's own in the MODELS viewer. There are two versions of it, one without the cars and one with cars. Mount Mayhem has one more and that includes a red colour behind the cars. Inferno Isle and Sunset Sands do have this too.

Test turning track

Beetle Test Turning Track.PNG

No. "15" in TERRA is unused. It's a road with grass and tree walls. There is a bridge in the middle, probably connecting the both parts. This track is not playable since there's no code that makes it playable. The road and the bridge is only ones to have a texture, the others doesn't have a texture, just colours.

Sunset Sands Under The Ground Shortcut Area

No. "21" in TERRA is unused. It's the "under the ground" shortcut as it's own model. Why did the developers make this? Maybe they used this when working with that area and then forgot to remove it before they pasted it in in Sunset Sands' design? It's a mystery.

Three and Four-player mode

Beetle Multiplayer In Stunt O Rama.PNG

Normally, you are only able to battle against 3 other players. However, at one time, you could race against them. The problem is that there's no data for speed, time, lap and position. Also, there's no car select menu. This mode was cut because there's no data or car select menu. You can still race against your friends using the Debug Menu.

Text related to early content

points_1

This name stands for 1-Point Box, which could mean that 1-Point Boxes was going to be in the game. They were replaced by the 2-Point Boxes, just before the release. One beta shot shows a Beetle destroying one of Mount Mayhem's 1-Point Boxes.

You placed... ????

Hmmm...
To do:
Please correct me if this is wrong. You are free to edit this section

Sounds for placing Fourth, Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eight does exist, but are never heard in-game, because "Nice try." is in placement for them.
