Stuff I should add when I'm not lazy
PS2
- Ratchet & Clank - Prototype differences + in the final game vessels in Drek's Fleet that cannot be accessed normally. Also three weapons (Walloper, Taunter and R.Y.N.O) have unused gold variants.
- Ratchet & Clank 2: Locked & Loaded/Going Commando - Suspicious (possibly unused?) island on Planet Dobbo.
- Ratchet: Gladiator/Deadlocked - Unused audio files. This includes audio for an unused mission involving Hydro Girl (her only speaking role in the final game is during the final cutscene after the DreadZone Station blows up) and some audio for Shellshock (should rip the audio files when I'm not being lazy) and also regional differences. Plus a prototype with a lot of differences.
- Are there any differences between the Sly 2: Band of Thieves demo included on the Ratchet & Clank 3 disc and the final version?
- Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban - Debug menu and unused level, still needs documenting.
PC
- The Sims 2 & 3 (don't have The Sims 1 unfortunately) - Everything.
DS
- Mega Man Star Force 2 - Pat has unused walking sprites and Rey has unused mugshots.
- Mega Man Star Force 3 - ugh.
Notes
Until I actually make articles/add this to the game's respective pages, I will add notes of importance here. Warning: poor spelling ahead.
Ratchet and Clank
- It is possible to use a moonjump cheat to access the inner area of the BTS Station as Clank (normally this area can only be explored as Ratchet).
- The only enemies that actually load/appear in the BTS while playing as Clank are the Alien Swarmers.
- The Alien Queen boss doesn't load/appear.
- Clank will fall to his death if he tries to use the Grind Rails leading back to the ship because of his inability to use the Grind Boots.
- Clank is capable of traveling to the Blarg Warship.
- You can also access Ratchet's path on Orxon by using the same cheat. In normal gameplay, the gap between the ship area and the platform leading to Ratchet's path is large for Clank to get across.
- The electrical fences do not load/appear, but Clank will still be damaged if he walks into where they are supposed to be and the orbs that usually keep them up are present and can be destroyed.
- The Toxic Crabs don't load/appear.
- The Blarg Space Commandos that appear outside of where the Nanotech upgrade is exhibit some odd behavior seen nowhere else in the game, the first one will slowly raise it's gun and then swing it normally in an attempt to hit Clank, occasionally firing off two waves of fire. However, the second one will do nothing but spin around to face Clank.
- The Nanotech upgrades can be purchased as normal, but Ratchet will appear in the cutscenes instead of Clank.
- During the beginning of the game, while Ratchet is on Veldin, it is possible to moonjump to the Courier Ship (which is hidden behind some mountains, if I recall?). While it is possible to go inside of it like normal, the game will crash upon trying to fly to another planet.
Ratchet and Clank (Prototype)
- Demo from a blue PS2 demo disc which came from a Playstation Magazine(?) released in the UK sometime in 2002.
- Though there appears to be more prototypes floating 'round the internet, I'm covering the one I've listed above (not sure if shit varies from prototype to prototype).
- Not the Caldera prototype~
- General Differences
- The HUD is different in the final version.
- The player starts off with the Blaster.
- Only two planets are available (Kerwan and Rilgar).
- Instead of showing the ship flying through space, the loading screen shows the controls.
- The player has the Blarg Fighter ship. In the final version Ratchet would be still using the Courier Ship at the point when he unlocks Kerwan and Rilgar.
- The "Gold Bolt Obtained" sequence is different in the prototype. Instead of Ratchet picking up the bolt and spinning it on his finger until it dissapears, the bolt charges into Ratchet and dissapears. Ratchet recoils in pain when this happens (though he doesn't take damage).
- There is an "Enemies" section in the Help menu that was removed in the final version, presumably it would have allowed the player to view information about enemies they have killed, like in Ratchet and Clank 2.
- Skill Points have not been implemented yet.
- Metropolis - Planet Kerwan
- Yes, the name is listed as Kerwan in the prototype I own.
- The "Wanted" posters which can be found around the city are removed in the final version.
- Though the "Big Al's Roboshack" video still shows a "Wanted" poster in the final version.
- The gold bolt guarded by the Robodogs in the train station is missing.
- Helga wears a different outfit in the prototype.
- The markings underneath the zip lines are different to the final versions.
- There's a different robot outside of Big Al's Roboshack in the final(?).
- Blackwater City - Planet Rilgar
- The R.Y.N.O salesman has not been implemented yet.
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
- debug menu.
- does debug things.
- words.
- party altering.
- level selection.
- unused level.
- only accessible from the debug menu,
- Called from_shriekingshack(?).
- Level is just Harry in his pajamas falling forever in a black void.
The Sims 2
- Unused NPC.
- Called Big Boss.
- Was part of a scrapped scenario.
- Hidden NPCs.
- ideal plantsim.
Mega Man Star Force 2
- Graphics for Pat's walking animation and mugshots of his split personality Rey exist in the game, leftovers.
Mega Man Star Force 3
- debug map.
- and various other pieces of debug shit apparently.
