PlayStation without Ratchet & Clank just isn't PlayStation.

Hmmm...
To do:
*Screenshots of Ratchet's ship & the hidden fleet ship.
  • Images of the unused models and the used ones for comparison purposes.

Unused Graphics

Several early models and textures for some of the Weapons and Gadgets remain on the game's disc.

O2 Mask

The two unused O2 Masks lack the yellow triangle present on the final, and show at one point the mask was intended to be chrome or black before settling with crimson.

Decoy

The decoys spawned by the Decoy Glove were less-detailed at one point.

Drone Device Glove

At one point, the Drone Device was going to summoned from a glove in a similar fashion to the Glove of Doom. This was likely cut for being pointless.

Ratchet's Hidden Ship

During the beginning of the game when Ratchet is on Veldin, it is possible to moonjump to the Courier Ship. While the player can go inside of it like normal, the game will crash upon trying to fly to another planet.

Secret Ship in Drek's Fleet

By using a moonjump cheat whilst in Drek's Fleet level, it is possible for the player to find a solitary ship far behind the others. Looking inside it reveals it to be the ship used for the Chairman Drek cutscenes.

Lonely Swingshot Target in Kerwan

While riding the train in Metropolis, occasionally it will pass the top of a building with a lone green Swingshot target at the top. Whilst the target can be latched onto by using the Swingshot like normal, it will cause Ratchet to fall into the void and die.

Oddities with Clank

Hmmm...
To do:
Videos instead of text.

Inner BTS Area

It is possible to use a moonjump cheat to access the inner area of the BTS Station as Clank. Normally, the inner area can only be accessed by Ratchet and the outer area can only be accessed by Clank, although later Ratchet gains the O2 Mask and can also access the outer area.

  • The only enemies that actually load/appear in the BTS while playing as Clank are the Alien Swarmers.
  • The Alien Queen boss doesn't load/appear.
  • Clank will fall to his death if he tries to ride the grind rails leading back to the ship, even if the player has the Grind Boots, because of his inability to use the Grind Boots.
  • Clank is capable of traveling to the Blarg Warship.

Alternate Orxon Path

You can also access Ratchet's path on Orxon by using the same cheat. In normal gameplay, the gap between the ship area and the platform leading to Ratchet's path is large for Clank to get across.

  • The electrical fences do not appear, but Clank will still be damaged if he walks into where they are supposed to be and the orbs that usually keep them up are present and can be destroyed.
  • The Toxic Crabs don't load/appear.
  • The Blarg Space Commandos that appear outside of the Nanotech upgrade building exhibit some odd behavior seen nowhere else in the game. The first one will slowly raise his gun and then swing it normally in an attempt to hit Clank, occasionally firing off two waves of fire. However, the second one will do nothing but spin around to face Clank.
  • The Nanotech upgrades can be purchased as normal, but Ratchet will appear in the cutscenes instead of Clank.
