BOTW Wii U v0.9.0
You seem knowledgable about BOTW's code, so I thought I'd ask you about this. Does v0.9.0 (i.e. the base title)'s code differ in terms of "content" (actual game code) or just due to the fact it forces you to get the v1.0.0 patch? If it does differ, what are the differences? Does it differ significantly like build dates of the aforementioned versions suggest it might? --Hiccup (talk) 02:55, 28 February 2019 (EST)
- Hmm, I haven't spent a lot of time on reversing the Wii U versions or keeping track of changes between versions -- I mainly focus on Switch 1.5.0 and only occasionally port parts of my database to Wii U 1.5.0 for testing -- so I don't know how 0.9.0 and 1.0.0 differ exactly; sorry. The only thing I can say is that 0.9.0 and 1.0.0 are very similar to the point I cannot see any really obvious difference other than the internal version bump (0x8 -> 0x10). I could use Diaphora to try and get a diff but that'd take a lot of time and I don't have any symbol for 1.0.0 anyway, so it wouldn't be that useful.
- Also FYI, the version check is still present in Wii U 1.0.0. If the version string is equal to 0.9.0, GameScene transitions to the "AocError" state. Some time after 1.0.0 (in 1.1.0?) they added a check for AoC/DLC stuff and renamed the state to "PatchError", so even in Wii U 1.5.0 the version check is still present -- it's not specific to Wii U 0.9.0. On the other hand, none of the Switch releases check the version string. Leoetlino (talk) 12:24, 28 February 2019 (EST)

Hi. If you want different BOTW versions for datamining, I can get you them. (i.e. all cart versions, all digital versions including update/DLC titles and the switch kiosk demo). --Hiccup (talk) 14:37, 16 March 2019 (EDT)
