The other day, I saw some white Pikmin digging up one of these flower bulbs. For some reason, it didn't sprout into a flower. I've got it! I'll take it back to Hocotate and see if it'll grow there! My people will hail me as a botanical genius! Just thinking about it gets me excited.

When I inspected this item on the planet's surface, I was suddenly overcome with such a raging thirst that I thought I might fall unconscious. Having no tasty beverage at hand, I had to resort to licking the condensation from the inside of my helmet. I feel such shame.

As a result of censorship, the entire description of this item was changed. The joke in the demo text is that Olimar thinks A&W, a form of root beer, is an adult drink. This was apparently too risque for Nintendo.

When all of the treasure in an area has been collected, the device powers down. When we left Hocotate, I thought we'd never pay off our company's debts. But thanks to this gadget, I'm feeling optimistic about the outcome of this daring mission.

Today we searched a subterranean lair swarming with carnivorous bugs. The name Hole of Beasts immediately came to mind. The convenient contraption I found there has become an invaluable treasure- seeking tool. When it approaches a piece of treasure, the gadget beeps and the needle moves to the right. When all of the treasure in an area has been collected, the device powers down. When we left Hocotate, I thought we'd never be able to pay off the company's debt. But thanks to this gadget, I'm feeling optimistic about the outcome of this daring mission.

The early script refers to the Treasure Gauge by name, and does not mention a beeping sound. Perhaps it once worked differently.

This is one several items wielded by a nightmarish the nightmarish techno-spider that stole Louie. This devious device allowed the creature to control the force of lightning!	This shocker was one of several weapons wielded by the nightmarish titan dweevil. It allowed the creature to smite Pikmin with zaps of lightning!

The Titan Dweevil is referred to as a "techno-spider" in the early script, which is probably the only time that word will appear in a video game. Sadly. The extra, erroneous "a nightmarish" text was removed.

198 - Flare Cannon

This scorching mechanism was one of several parts wielded by a monsterous cyber-spider. This roasting apparatus spews hot jets of flame!	This scorching mechanism was once used by a monstrous titan dweevil. The roasting apparatus spews hot jets of flame! I can't keep Louie away from it... He keeps trying to use it to cook sausages and caramelize creme brulee.

Curiously, this is probably not the only instance of "cyber-spider" in a video game. Louie's gourmet cooking habits pop up in the finalized description.

199 - Comedy Bomb

This toxic componentwas dropped by the terrifying techno-spider! This primitive chemical weapon injects the atmosphere with clouds of poisonous gas.	This fiendish component was used by the titan dweevil! Although it was once a primitive chemical weapon, it is now a weapon of mass hilarity.

More techno-spider fun! The bomb is still deadly in the demo script. Oh, and a space was added to the first line.

The nightmarish beast that kidnapped Louie is freakishly large! It collects powerful objects and uses them to upgrade its powers of predation. This sinister creature must be the most dangerous creature ever recorded! Yet, even this menacing beast will ultimately fall to my fearsome pack of Pikmin. I'm glad to have them on my side, but sometimes I'm frightened by their ferocity.

Louie is back! Somehow, he survived a horrific ordeal with a freakishly large, weapon- wielding titan dweevil! I entered a hole with an army of ferocious Pikmin, grimly determined to save Louie from the titan dweevil, but it seems that he was perfectly fine all along. I can't understand how he managed to avoid being eaten. Hmmm... He's always had an unusually close connection with insects, and I know he loves to cook them! Maybe he wasn't kidnapped after all... Could he have been controlling that beast all along?! No...that's craziness! Although...he does insist now that we address him by his "proper title," the King of Bugs.

This description was entirely rewritten to focus on Louie instead of the Titan Dweevil, in the process suggesting that Louie was controlling the Titan Dweevil, and stating that Louie came up with his own treasure title.
