Yoshi's Cookie is a puzzle game in which you help Mario and Yoshi run a cookie factory by rotating rows of cookies until they form a row of identical cookies and disappear. It's a great way to spend a long car trip if you're burnt out on Tetris and/or Dr. Mario.

Debug Screen

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Are there more valid passwords?

A game of hermits and heroes.

A debug screen is present at 0x18001 in the ROM. It can be activated with Game Genie code 001-DFF-A2A (001-CCF-A2A for Yoshi no Cookie) or by replacing ROM address 0x01DF with 0x00.

The debug screen can also be accessed in the Japanese version by performing the following steps:

  1. At the game setup screen, set Round to 10, Speed to Hi, and Music Type to Off.
  2. Highlight Round, hold Up and press Select.
  3. Set Round to 71.
  4. Press A or Start to continue, then quickly hold Down+Right+A+B+Select. If done right, a password screen will appear.
  5. Enter HERMETICA! as a password and the debug screen will appear.

The password and "HERMETICA DEBUG MODE" text date this menu to the game's early development as a non-Mario game titled Hermetica. Setting SPEED to TEST will cause the accumulation rate of the cookies to stop until B is pressed or held; releasing B will again cease movement of the cookies.

A similar debug menu is present in the NES version.
