A Hat in Time (Windows, Mac OS X)/Unused Animations/Mustache Girl Animations

This is a sub-page of A Hat in Time (Windows, Mac OS X)/Unused Animations.

Mustache Girl, being a playable character that was originally planned to be played as far more often, has some leftover animations for interacting with things that the player normally never gets to while aboard Hat Kid's spaceship. There's also a fair amount of animations leftover from the Beta, much like Hat Kid.


Beta Animations

  • The old idle animation. Has a bit more life here, but still lacking that punch, ya know?

  • Even here, it's still a double jump.

  • Mustache Girl also has the old landing recoil animations that Hat Kid does.

  • Steady now...

  • Well, here's something interesting. This is an animation that even Hat Kid doesn't have leftover. This would be the Beta animation for recoiling from a still jump. Like the previous two animations, this wasn't in the Beta builds.

  • Another one leftover from the Beta builds that Hat Kid doesn't have. This is for abruptly turning around while moving.

Misc. Animations

Mustache Girl has animation poses for getting hurt, which are normally unseen in-game because there's nothing onboard the Spaceship that can hurt the player. The animations are all carbon copies of Hat Kid's hurt poses, and thus will not be shown.


  • Mustache Girl burning her tush. There aren't any fire hazards aboard the Spaceship in the final game.

  • Put it out! Put it OUT!!

  • An animation of Mustache Girl peeking around a corner. Most likely intended for the older way of meeting Mustache Girl in Mafia Town, where she was watching you from around a corner. In the final game, she beats up some Mafia, lands on top of them, and runs off when she notices you.

  • Mustache Girl swimming. There's no pools on the Spaceship in the final game, sadly. She was planned to appear in Subcon Forest, however, which has a pool of water at the starting area.

  • Her swimming animations are also the ones used in the Beta builds, meaning that they were never updated.

  • Mustache Girl cannot wallslide in the final game, so this animation goes unused.

  • The only unused boss animation for Mustache Girl. She does a ninja pose, and that's about it. According to the filename, this was to play when she teleports anime style.
