Thank you very much for purchasing Dragonstrike. I'm Penishilin, programmer of the X68000 version. Dragonstrike (or DS) may run a bit sluggishly on 10MHz X68000s, but if run borderless and using the lowest detail, it's still more than enough to be enjoyable, right? The XVI will speed the game up... well, not really, but it will make it run smoother. Even if you don't own one, I hope you get the chance to try it out. (Though I didn't get the fade in/out done in time...) And if you've modded yours to run at 24MHz... Who knows? If you've tried it out, tell me how it works! DS is my first time as lead programmer seeing it through from beginning to end (though not without pretty much borrowing the polygon routines from the guy handling the PC-9801 version...) I also put a lot of effort into things like the enemy dragons' patterns. What do you think? (I wish I'd had time to work on things like the player dragon, compression, and items too... *sob*) I figured out a solution to the sprite flicker right before we went gold, but it would have involved completely redoing the data structures and then reworking the program, so sadly I had to let it go. Sorry. (It would have run faster that way too...) Finally, I'd like to thank the following tools, their developers, and their port maintainers: * CONDRV * HAS * HLK * MFGED * MicroEMACS * PE2 * PIC/APIC * XED See you again in some other game! - Penishilin P.S. Don't put too much faith in the arrow signs when you cross the valley... |
As stated above, Penishilin is listed in the game's credits. There is also an "R. Hiraoka" listed in the game's manual, which may be their real name.
