We dedicate this story to Kōichi and Emi. May children yet to be born be strong, and have love and bravery like Alex.

And we, together with Alex, hope that all who love him may be forever happy.

Revisional Differences

Starting in 1990, some Master Systems featured a built-in version of the game with a few changes:

  • The copyright date was updated.
  • The original version used 1 to jump and 2 to punch. These were switched for the built-in version, resulting in a more conventional layout.
Original Rerelease

  • The rice ball that Alex eats on the map screen was changed to a hamburger, mostly made to make the game more appealing to non-Japanese audiences.

  • The end-of-stage marker was also changed accordingly.
