BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is the obligatory crossover episode everyone groans about but secretly enjoys.

Hmmm...
To do:
  • Plenty of unused graphics, including a full unfinished set of fighting sprites for Yang
  • More leftovers from past games
  • References to characters from Senran Kagura
  • Unused announcer calls for cut (?) characters
  • Unused voice lines referencing scrapped moves

Unused Announcer Call Lines

Amongst the announcer's voice clips circa the 2.0 Update are lines calling for characters that did not make it into the final game. Whether they were done as a placeholder or planned to be in future updates is unknown, but the amount of characters suggests the roster would have been about double the size of the final roster of 53 characters. There are clips recorded for the selection of the following characters:

BlazBlue series

  • Taokaka
  • Carl Clover
  • Litchi Faye-Ling
  • Arakune
  • Bang Shishigami
  • Tsubaki Yayoi
  • Mu-12
  • Valkenhayn R. Hellsing
  • Relius Clover
  • Amane Nishiki
  • Bullet
  • Kagura Mutsuki
  • Yuki Terumi
  • Kokonoe
  • Hibiki Kohaku
  • Izanami

Lambda-11 is the only character in the roster to not have a roster call line.

Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Arena: Ultimax

  • Rise Kujikawa
  • Yukari Takeba
  • Ken Amada and Koromaru
  • Shadow Labrys
  • Junpei Iori
  • Marie
  • Sho Minazuki (he has two, possibly referring to his Persona-less form and his Persona form, which are two separate slots in their origin game)
  • Margaret

Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]

  • Eltnum
  • Nanase
  • Chaos
  • Byakuya
  • Phonon
  • Enkidu
  • Wagner

Eltnum's inclusion possibly would have registered her under the Under Night In-Birth label considering that no other characters from Melty Blood were planned. Londrekia was also not considered due to him debuting in the Exe:Late[clr] version of the game, which was still unreleased.

RWBY

  • Jaune Arc
  • Pyrrha Nikos
  • Lie Ren
  • Nora Valkyrie
  • Sun Wukong
  • Cinder Fall
  • Roman Torchwick
  • Emerald Sustrai
  • Adam Taurus

Senran Kagura series

  • Yozakura
  • Miyabi
  • Yagyū
  • Renka
  • Kagura
  • Mirai
  • Hibari
  • Ryōbi
  • Hikage
  • Asuka

The voice clip for Asuka as well as any references to her were included in the base game, alongside Yumi. However, Yumi was the only Senran Kagura character to make it into the final release through the 2.0 Update.

Arcana Heart series

  • Saki Tsuzura
  • Kamui Tokinomiya
  • Akane Inuwaka
  • Minori Amanohara
  • Kira Daidouji
  • Petra Johanna Lagerkvist
  • Weiß
  • Scharlachrot
  • Fiona Mayfield

Akatsuki Blitzkampf series and EN-Eins Perfektewelt

  • EN-Eins
  • Fritz
  • Kanae
  • Kati
  • Sai
  • Dawei Ye Lue (simply referred to as Dawei in game)
  • Adler
  • Kanzensha (this is the Japanese name for Perfecti, much like how characters such as Teddie and Blitztank have different names depending on the region)

No voice clip exists for Perfecti referring to them by their English name.

Fighter Sprites

Early Final

An early idle sprite was leftover within Aigis's sprite set. The back of her hair, the bottom of her red tie, and the gold plating on her right thigh were all modified.

Emblems

Placeholder emblems for all non-BlazBlue characters. They use Ragna's emblem as a base, with their name written on top. Curiously, Jubei from BlazBlue also has a placeholder emblem.

Miscellaneous

A large placeholder image. It says "reserve 1024x1024 8bit". This is stored as "char_e0", alongside character fighting sprites.
