The tower of badly-aged pseudo-3D effects topples onto the Game Boy.

As with the NES port, the game was released as Kyoro-Chan Land in Japan, replacing the main character's graphics. However, a leaked prototype of the game features a helmeted knight as the protagonist, instead of the pig-snouted creature like all other American/European revisions. This prototype has the header "CASTELIAN HIRO" (Hiro being the Japanese publisher of both the NES and Game Boy versions), suggesting it was originally meant for Japan before being rebranded. This "knight" version of the game was never released, although it got far enough to be passed through lot check. The music in all three of these versions is different than each other (the Kyoro-Chan music is entirely replaced; the two Castelians' differences are only slight).
