Episode 1

Unused Disruptor Glove Texture

In the “skins” folder is an unused Disruptor Glove. This texture lacks the little ovals on the left side of the wrist and is slightly lighter than the one used.

Early Ion Blaster Texture

There is an unused Ion Blaster texture in the game's files. This texture appears in the Daikatana DM Demo prototype and several pre-release screenshots.

Early Shotcycler Texture

There is an unused Shotcycler texture that looks a lot like the pre-alpha's Shotcycler. It seems the old Shotcycler was revised to use the final's art style before being scrapped.

Unused Final Shotcycler Skins

There are several unused Shotcycler skins found in the .pak file. These look like they were for testing various skins for the Shotcycler. One of the skins is the one used in the Daikatana DM Demo prototype.

WIP Shotcycler Skin

There is an early version of the final's Shotcycler texture. It's clearly incomplete, as several parts of the UV map can still be seen and the body of the gun has little shading. What's interesting to note is that the Shotcycler in the texture is grey instead of brown.

Unused Sidewiner Skin

w_sidewinderx.skn contains an earlier version of the Sidewinder's skin. This texture is a duller green, doesn't have an orange band on the rocket, and nearly every part of the gun is larger or smaller than it is on the used texture.

This skin is used in the Daikatana DM Demo.

Early Sidewinder Rocket

There is an earlier Sidewinder rocket texture buried in the texture files. It has a red warhead and is much thinner when compared to the MPlayer Demo and final versions, suggesting that it was leftover from an earlier version of the Sidewinder.

Episode 2

Larger Discus of Daedalus Textures

The Discus of Daedalus uses a single texture sheet. However, separate versions of the disk's body and blades can be found in the game's files. These textures are larger than the ones used in the texture sheet.

Unused Venomous Texture

Next to the used Venomous texture in the “skins” folder, there is a completely different skin for it that went unused. The staff has completely different textures on it; instead of being a bunch of skulls and being dark, it has a woman's face on it and is a medium brown. The snakes have much larger scales than the ones on the used skin do, and the position of the pointy things on the snakes are different.

Early Sunflare Texture

A completely different texture for the Sunflare in the “skins” folder. The Sunflare is much brighter than the one used and has a completely different art style. It's likely that this texture is a leftover from an earlier development phase.

Unused Eye of Zeus Texture

An earlier skin for the Eye of Zeus called “w_zeus” can be found. This skin has the eye in the middle of either opening or closing, suggesting that it was meant to have a frame play between when the eye is open and when it's closed.

Episode 3

Larger Silverclaw Textures

The Silverclaw's textures are on a single sheet. However, there are textures for each separate part of the Silverclaw that go unused. Several of these textures are larger than their equivalents on the texture sheet.

Episode 4

Unused Kinenticore Texture

An unused Kinenticore texture in the game's files has a rectangular shape with blue metal inside of it and a blue oval in the center of it. The used texture keeps a bit of the rectangle's rim, but removes the stuff inside of it.

hw_pistol

An unused and very low-poly pistol model called "hw_pistol" can be found. It has a companion model called "hw_shotgun" that is used by the SEAL Captain and SEAL Girl. However, in pre-release screenshots, hw_shotgun can be seen being used by Superfly and Mikiko. Therefore, it seems that both hw_pistol and hw_shotgun were originally meant to represent the sidekicks holding weapons, but after they found a way to have the game show the specific weapon the sidekick is using, the devs reused hw_shotgun for the SEAL Captain and SEAL Girl, but didn't reuse hw_pistol.
