The PlayStation release of Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMIX is known for having the then-largest songlist of any home release to date, as well as having many memorable originals.
It also allowed the player to perform disc swapping with previous titles.

Unused Songs

When comparing the songlists of the original Arcade release to this port, it is notable that three of the new songs are absent: the licenses FOLLOW THE SUN (90 IN THE SHADE MIX), IT ONLY TAKES A MINUTE (Extended Remix) and XANADU.
However, all three have their backgrounds, stepcharts, background animation data, and Records Menu banners left unused in the data, as well as practically intact songlist coding.
Note that the stepchart data is normally compressed under Bemani-LZ, and, unlike most PlayStation releases, is in .cms format, which was used in the arcade DDR games from 2ndMIX to 3rdMIX PLUS.
