Also known as: Dancing Stage: Party Edition (EU) This game has unused areas. This game has a prototype article |
Dance Dance Revolution Konamix is the series's third foray into the North American and European markets. The title for the North American release is due to all of the songs in it were composed by Konami employees. The European release replaced some of these with licensed music, though.

Unused Song
Exclusive to Dancing Stage: Party Edition, the game's European release, is partial data for an unused song: ADDICTED TO BASS by Puretone. While a CD remained, being loaded with the others in VRAM, all other graphical data has been blanked out. Its step data is complete, however, and can be found starting from 0x7E5000 in READ_DT.BIN. It has been converted to a readable format in the download below.

An unused graphic for an "Internet Ranking" Mode, a leftover from the console release of Dance Dance Revolution 4thMIX.
Data Bank
An unused graphic for a Data Bank mode. It is also a leftover from the console release of Dance Dance Revolution 4thMIX, and even there, it's unused.
Easy/Normal/Hard
Unused graphics for "Easy", "Normal" and "Hard" modes. They are present in the VRAM data of the song selection screen...
...and in the gameplay screen. Note that this variant, besides the palettes, seems to be a leftover from the arcade release of Dance Dance Revolution 3rdMIX.
Japanese Text
Japanese text used in the Edit Mode's interface, yet another leftover from the console release of Dance Dance Revolution 4thMIX.
Unused Guide
An unused Guide menu graphic for the "Language" selection in the edit menu.
Early Guide Graphics
Somewhat "plain" graphics for some of the sections in the Guide menu. It's worth noticing that all of them have finalized versions.

Title Screen/Main Menu
The title screen has quite the most obvious change: it was completely redesigned between the North American and European releases. The menu screen also has some differences, such as the warning text below the mode selections using a different font, and the sparkly circles on the side of the selected choice being in a different color.

Songlist
As stated in the introduction, several songs (which, apart from DIVE, were all the returning beatmania songs from 2ndReMIX Append Club Version Vol.2) were replaced with licensed cover songs in the European release. Unusually, Salamander Beat Crush Mix is the only song that didn't get this treatment, but it is heavily implied that the aforementioned scrapped song ADDICTED TO BASS was going to be what it was replaced with.
