This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.
Hmmm...
To do:
Unpack all of the development roms found so far and see what's inside. Highlights:
  • Multiple builds ranging from 2008 - 2010.
  • Lots of early music, like a completely different Undella Town.
  • A whole different game??
  • Many early Pokemon designs.
  • Should content found in builds be put on a Prototype page, and content only found in the development assets be put here, on the Development page?

On October 12, 2024, a terabyte's worth of data from Game Freak was leaked onto the internet by a hacker. Among the leaks, the entire source code of Pokémon Black and White was released, containing lots of early and unseen content from its developmental cycle.
