Worth noting is that most of the first backup is untranslated, with the remainder of the localized text only added in 2-8-3.txt.

Miscellaneous changes include:

• Internally, the apostrophe is represented by the backtick, but here the former is used instead of the latter. Fixed in 2-8-2.TXT.
• The message "Welcome to our POKéMON Center!" is improperly terminated, with {normal@} misspelled as "normal@}". Fixed in 2-8-2.TXT.
• The message "Waah! My studies!" is improperly terminated, with {EOMwaiteom} misspelled as EOMwaiteom}. Fixed in 2-8-4.txt.
• The message "CHANSEY: Chaan! Sii!" is improperly terminated, with {EOM^2} misspelled as EOM^2}}. Fixed in 2-8-7.txt.
• The message "when a fiery bird POKéMON appeared." accidentally has a "\" in front of "POKéMON". Fixed in 2-8-4.txt.
• The message "Shall we heal your POKéMON?" incorrectly uses a {gyo3@} instead of a {home@}. Fixed in 2-8-6.txt.
• The message "Their whereabouts are unknown." was changed to "Their whereabouts is unknown." in 2-8-6.txt. Reverted in 2-8-12.txt.
