So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Hmmm...
To do:

Driver: San Francisco is the "revival" of the Driver series, taking place after DRIV3R. The game's plot revolves around Tanner in a coma, and has the ability to shift (possess people in random cars, Quantum Leap style). Despite the strange premise, it's a remarkably fun game.

Prerelease Info

Cut "Take" multiplayer ability

The Take ability allows a player to gain full control of other players' vehicles by locking onto them during a Shift for two seconds.

Unused Evidence Board Cutscene

This was meant to play after the end credits but was cut for unknown reasons.

Unused Videos

Early pause menu background video

pause.bik shows a blue background with moving lens flares/dust particles. A similar background would be found in late development builds, depicting an animated city skyline positioned in front of a blue backdrop.

Leila flashback placeholder

A cinematic that shows Leila shooting at Jericho's police van inside a helicopter can be found as gameplay\Leila_Flashback_Placeholder.bik.

FramePrecision

Presumably used for an FMV/in-game mixed cutscene test.

DriverSplash

If its filename is of any indication, it's a splash screen. This video was played at the end of the E3 2010 demo booth missions and was also shown in the heavily-scripted E3 2010 tour video.

ESRB warning

Legal information to comply with specifications outlined by the ESRB ratings board. The variant used in demo releases has a far more verbose outline of the content that is present in the final release itself as well as a proper rating.

Unused Vehicles

ASYM Desanne (Civilian)

The ASYM Desanne was a vehicle created for the sole purpose of being damaged in cutscenes, due to Ubisoft Reflections not able to obtain rights to give licensed vehicles the ability to explode.

The civilian version of the ASYM Desanne appears in several cutscenes and missions that required a car to be blown up, such as the game's intro (internally referred to as the "exposition") and The Conversation.

ASYM Desanne Police Car

The Police version of the ASYM Desanne is used in multiple cutscenes throughout the game, specifically during the introduction sequence and during the game's credits. It has a fully modeled exterior and interior.

ASYM Desanne Taxi

While the Police version of the ASYM Desanne appears in a cutscene, the taxi version goes completely unused. Maybe it was for a planned mission, considering it is fully modeled. Who knows.

Revisional Differences

The console releases of Driver: San Francisco include an additional subset of post-processing effects as well as film grain, both of which are absent from the PC release.

Regional Differences

The Japanese release lacks Uplay integration, allowing the player to immediately join multiplayer game sessions and granting the player access to all Uplay-exclusive game challenges (the set of which was simply renamed to San Francisco.)
