This is a sub-page of Gran Turismo 2.

Unused Graphics

Professional Level

GT2-Professional Level.png

This panel appears hidden inside the panel graphics in the arcade mode files. At some point there would be a fourth difficulty level, but it never ended up being used. It exists in all regions of Gran Turismo 2 and even exists in earlier versions. A professional difficulty level would later appear in Gran Turismo 3 with a button combination to access it in the arcade mode.

Note that panel has a different design compared to the other difficulty panels.

Drag Race

GT2-Drag Race.png

A panel for a Drag Race mode. At some point during development, a drag racing mode would've been included in the game although it was scrapped due to time constraints. The game's American manual however does mention drag racing inside it. This panel exists in earlier versions of the game and in the Japanese version of the final game.

Bonus Cars

Found inside the Goodies graphics. It may have been part of an earlier design of the Goodies screen.

Manufacturer Logos

A number of manufacturer logos, meant to be shown above the car's logo in Arcade Mode, exist but are never used or seen.

GT2-Arcade-Mercury-Logo.png

Mercury was originally planned to have its own dealer, but its only models – the '67 classic and the then-new '99 Mercury Cougar – ended up moved to the Ford dealer during development. This logo can be seen in demo builds, but is never used in the retail versions of GT2.

GT2-Arcade-Rover-Logo.png

The various models of the Mini Cooper were originally meant to be found under the Rover manufacturer, but that was ultimately changed to a generic "MINI and MG" dealer. Like Mercury, the Rover logo is used in the earliest demo build available, but never sees any use in neither the later demos nor the final game. However, the game still accounts for the Rover manufacturer credit, as the Mini Cooper 1.3i appears between Peugeot 206 GTi and Suzuki Alto Works RS/Z '98 in Class C Arcade Mode car selection.

GT2-Arcade-Vauxhall-Logo.png

While the Opel Tigra is used in Arcade Mode – in both road and race flavors, the Vauxhall variant is not available at all, even in PAL version set to English, rendering this logo unused. The logo does not exist either in any demo builds.
