This is a sub-page of Gran Turismo 2.

Gran Turismo 2's release is known to have been postponed multiple times during the game's development, and Sony is presumed to have rushed Polyphony Digital into finishing it in time for the Christmas 1999 season. While the released product was generally well-received, significant glitches required the developer's attention, and multiple builds were compiled throughout December. The volume file (GT2.VOL) of the original Japanese "Arcade Mode" disc was assembled on November 28, 1999, with its "Gran Turismo Mode" counterpart being compiled four and a half hours later, on November 29. North American versions followed soon after, improving upon the original — which also received an update incorporating all fixes so far — and culminating in the final update for the North American and European regions.
