This is a sub-page of Gran Turismo 2/Revisional Differences.

This page describes revisional differences first found in the third and final North American build of Gran Turismo 2, built less than eight minutes before both discs of the European version.

This version was issued as part of Sony's Greatest Hits program, introducing the last batch of changes on top of those from the Japanese December 22 build.

Note: The changes documented here are not reflected in Arcade Mode, as its disc did not receive a matching update.

General Changes

Car Updates

The following car models saw cosmetical changes for the final North American release:

The Ford Taurus SHO racing modification (uftar), originally based on the NASCAR machine driven by Mark Martin during the 1999 season, was changed to a generic NASCAR-inspired design in this version, possibly due to licensing issues. The Roush Racing signature is still present in the front, however.

The Ford Focus Rally Car (effwr) had its tiny Valvoline decal removed from the front door.

GT Mode Menu Background Updates

A number of menu background images, all used on dealership front pages, received minor changes:

Formatting of Renault's flavor text was changed a bit thanks to the fix of a typo involving the word "nationalized."

Vector's dealership saw a minuscle change as its paragraph-closing comma was replaced with a period.

North America-Specific Changes

More menu pages were tweaked to fix issues missed by the previous revision.

The Car Wash screen, which mistakenly carried over the price of Cr5,000 from the Japanese versions (in which two zeros are added to Credits in general), was updated to display the correct price of Cr50.

The description of the Honda S2000 (h2s2n) originally missed part of its text due to lack of space, much like that of the Toyota Prius. However, instead of touching it up and fitting the remaining text, PD simply removed its last sentence.
