This is a sub-page of Gran Turismo 4 Prologue.

Hmmm...
To do:
Document unused stuff.

The 2004 Toyota Demo was a demo released to North American markets based on Gran Turismo 4 Prologue, obtained by requesting Prius brochures from Toyota's website or by attending Toyota's stand at the 2004 New York International Auto Show (hence the "TOYOTA 2004 NEW YORK Ver." text on the title screen).

A European version also exists, with difference of branding commemorating the Geneva Motor Show (as indicated in the title screen and disc).

Playable Content

This version features the same Prius featured in the Japanese demo, right down to the same unique HUD, as well as the Motor Triathlon Race Car (MTRC) concept model. The then-current version of Fuji Speedway as appearing in retail GT4P is included, as well as the Grand Canyon rally track. Both cars can be chosen for a single-car free run with an imposed time limit.

Differences

  • The Motor Triathlon Race Car uses a special HUD showing its four acceleration and braking gauges and center of gravity, which was discarded in GT4.
  • The Grand Canyon track is in an early stage of development here: Instead of the course being entirely made of dirt, the first section is all tarmac. It also places a finish line right after the jumpy part, cutting off the last section of the track.
  • While the Motor Triathlon Race Car can race on Grand Canyon, the car cannot race in dirt or snow tracks in the final GT4. The reverse is true for the Prius.
