We could only wish we were playing this right now... maybe...
This game was never completed and/or given a public release.
As a result of this, keep in mind that the developers might have used or deleted some of the content featured here, had the game actually reached store shelves.

Instead of being a straight port, the NES Hit the Ice is an unique mix of sports and RPG. Leveling up, random encounters and all!

A prototype was dumped in 2002, but a final ROM (dated March 11, 1993) with some additional fixes was included as part of an archived email attachment (found in NEWS\テープリストア\NEWS_02\usr01\uji\Mail\inbox) among the July 2020 Nintendo leaks. The game seems to have been cancelled very close to release, as it was approved for manufacturing.

Sound Test

At the title screen, after "PUSH START BUTTON" appears, press A, Up, B, A, Right, B, A, Down, B, A, Left, B.

Select between music and sounds with Up/Down, select a track with Left/Right, and press A to play it.

Unused Music

BGM 09 in the sound test is an otherwise-unused jingle.

What seems to be text for some kind of menu is present at 0x3C4D6, while the text for the sound test above is at 0x1FB13.
