Hot Wheels Micro Racers is a racing game with an extremely uncomfortable top-down view. How this racing is possible in the first place is unclear, but we think that the Littles were involved. Also, they get hit by trains.

Unused Graphics

These two graphics, one with added shadowing and one without, appear to be created for the main menu, but cannot be found as they appear in the final game. Instead, the shadowed version is placed over cars that the player has not unlocked yet, and so a separate transparency file may exist.

Unused Audio

A sound effect identical to the main menu's toggle effect exists. It was created almost four months before the actual toggle effect used in-game, and is named "04-WRONG". What caused the file to be "wrong" isn't apparent.

Four sound effects identical to the following file, "StartBeep2" (used in the pre-race countdown), named "09_groundTable", "10_groundPlastic", "11_groundMat", and "08_groundSand", are included. It can be inferred that there were sound effects for cars hitting a variety of surfaces, but they were overwritten with "StartBeep2".

Another blank file, named "SILENCE" and lasting about 1/4 second, can also be found in the game's data. This may have been used during testing.

Alternate Title

According to "SETUP.CFG", the original name for the game was "Hot Wheels Off Track Racing".
