Hover Force was originally designed to be a 3D game, but the collapse of Mattel's electronic division and tightened resources for INTV result in the 3D glasses being dropped.

Hold the 0 key on either controller when the game is on the title screen.
Developer Message
Hold down 2 and 6 on the left controller and 2 and 3 on the right controller at the same time. Then, press Reset on the console to display these two messages from Steve Ettinger.
