Hydro Thunder for the N64 is the only home console port of the arcade original to have 4 player support (with the use of an expansion pak).

Some of the strings mention the N64 transfer pak and a Game Boy cartridge indicating that there may have been a Game Boy version of Hydro Thunder may have been planned at some point. The final game doesn't use the transfer pak at all.
