The NES Jaws is one of many average movie-licensed games for the console. Being loosely based on the entire franchise, you go back and forth collecting and delivering conch shells to upgrade your projectile attacks so you can kill the big killer shark.
Hold Up + Left + B on Controller 2 and press Reset to enable the following functions.
At the title screen, press Left/Right to increase/decrease the sample number (or Up/Down to use increments of 10). A plays the sample, B cancels. A two-digit number appears in the center of the screen representing the current sample number.
Normal samples are from 00 to 1E. Most samples above 25 will hang the console. Sample 10 is unused in the game.
During gameplay, press Start on Controller 1 to pause the game, then hold one of the following buttons on Controller 2 and press Start on Controller 1 to get the corresponding shortcuts:
- In map mode, A gives "You've hit Jaws!" and B gives "You've hit something!"
- In diving mode, A exits the mode, B kills Jaws, and A + B gives an extra nine lives.
The plane is part of the sprite tiles, so it should be displayed as tiles somewhere to extend some unseen background. The back of the box says "Will you use the mini-sub, sea plane, sail boat or just scuba gear?", suggesting that it was to be used in the same way as the sailboat.
Some slightly different copyright text is present in the ROM.
