The Mac's answer to the Game Gear's answer to Tetris.

Hmmm...
To do:
Shareware/retail differences.

Peridot

In August 1992, "T.j." inquired on comp.sys.mac.games about an unused jewel visible in version 1.0's resource fork. Programmer Rodney Jacks explained:

The oval green jewel (peridot) you're referring to was removed
from the game at the last minute. It may return again with some
new and unusual characteristics (hint ;-)
Jewelbox (Mac OS Classic) - 2.0.2 Peridot.gif    Although the peridot was given a 'twinkle out' animation along with every other gem in version 2.0, it still didn't show up in gameplay.

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Were the "unusual characteristics" ever implemented?

What appears there instead, care of a "vers" resource, is a much friendlier message.

Have Fun!
