The Mac's answer to the Game Gear's answer to Tetris.
In August 1992, "T.j." inquired on comp.sys.mac.games about an unused jewel visible in version 1.0's resource fork. Programmer Rodney Jacks explained:
The oval green jewel (peridot) you're referring to was removed from the game at the last minute. It may return again with some new and unusual characteristics (hint ;-)
|Although the peridot was given a 'twinkle out' animation along with every other gem in version 2.0, it still didn't show up in gameplay.|
|This needs some investigation.|
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Were the "unusual characteristics" ever implemented?
DLOG 136 is left over from a demo.
The 2.0 owner resource contains a copyright notice far too long to appear in the Get Info box:
Jewelbox 2.0.1 Copyright © 1992-1993, Micro Imagineering. All Rights Reserved. ** Warning ** All code, artwork and sounds are copyrighted. If you use any of these resources in your applications, you are violating Federal copyright law!
What appears there instead, care of a "vers" resource, is a much friendlier message.
