Jordan vs Bird (Genesis)
|Jordan vs Bird|
Also known as: Jordan vs Bird - One on One (JP)
This game has regional differences.
Rip sprites of Bing Gordon and Ron Barr due to that they have an animation.
Jordan vs Bird is a remake of a Commodore 64 basketball game where you play as either Michael Jordan or Larry Bird.
When the game was brought to Japan, some changes were made due to a lawsuit from ESPN over the game's EA Sports Network (EASN) branding and EA had to change their branding to EA Sports.
In the Japanese version, the EASN logo was replaced by the EA Sports logo.
The EASN logo was changed to the EA Sports logo even though the text still says Electronic Arts Sports Network and Press Start to Begin was changed to Push Start to Begin.
A brighter blue has been used in the background and the EASN logo was replaced by the EA Sports logo. In the US/Europe version, 2 Players is the default setting while in the Japanese version, it has changed to 1 Player Jordan. There were some minor text changes:
|LOSER'S/WINNER'S OUTS||LOSER/WINNER OUT|
|PERIOD LENGTH||PERIOD TIME|
|PRESS START TO CONTINUE||PUSH START TO CONTINUE|
The Japanese version also changes the option for 2 Players. They are now 2 PLAYER 1-J 2-B and 2 PLAYER 1-B 2-J rather than just Player 1 being Jordan and Player 2 being Bird.
Commentator Bing Gordon has been replaced by Ron Barr in the Japanese version. The text was altered by replacing the EASN references with EA Sports.
