Kaido Racer
Kaido Racer |

Also known as: Kaido Battle 2: Chain Reaction (JP) This game has regional differences. |
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion. Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article? |
To do: List the stuff from the Taikenban |
Kaido Racer is the 2nd game in the Kaido Battle series. This game brought many additional changes such as more cars, courses, rivals, upgrades, and more. Whilst this game did release in 2004 for Japan, and released the following year in Europe, it was never released in America (instead, two foreign brands from here went sent to the American localization of the first game instead). Thankfully, the third game did get released in both regions.

Car Changes
Foreign Cars
Due to licensing issues regarding cars made by DeTomaso and Lotus, those cars were cut out in the European version of the game, with many rivals changing cars. Strangely, the information messages that occur when those cars are unlocked are still in the game, but have their text removed.

What's also interesting is the fact that the Pantera is still mentioned in-game via mail.
Dark Paladin Car Change
The rival "Dark Paladin" (Masahiro Hiraue) had his car changed from a Gemballa Turbo R-GT 320 in the Japanese version, to an Opel Calibra DTM in the PAL version. This change is especially odd, since the Gemballa is still present in the PAL version (albeit locked behind the Used Car Dealership).

Removed Rims
Various rims from 5Zigen, Hart, Rays (both Volk Racing and Gram Lights) O.Z, Racing Sparco and Speedline Corse were removed in PAL version (likely due to licensing issues). This leaves only five different rim brands in the PAL version of the game.
Rivals or sponsor test cars that used the rims listed below, had their rims changed in PAL version, most notably being Forever Knights/Daiki Kōnoue's Evo 3 having the OEM Evo 3 rims in the European version, compared to the Japanese version's OZ Rally Racing rims.
The removed wheels are as follows:

Blow Off Sticker change
To do: What exactly does "Scheister" translate to? |
The name for the in-game sponsor, "Blow Off", had its name changed to "Scheister" in the PAL version.

Strangely, the sponsor sticker that is applied to the car still reads as "Blow Off".
