Test Maps
As is seemingly Night Dive tradition, some test levels are present in the remaster and accessible using the console command "map ##", where ## is the level's number.
Map 96: Door Zoo
An ornate H-shaped wooden mansion area scattered with a wide and fascinating variety of swinging doors.
Map 97: Movie Test
A box with a single ghost placed in front of the player. It plays the Duncan and Mike "This is the perfect base for our operations..." skit when triggered.
Map 98: Gnm Transparency Debug Map
The same as Map 97, but with two health pickups instead. Presumably, the name suggests, to test the alpha transparency on some of the redrawn sprites
Map 99: Developer Museum
A sizable, detailed environment containing all the game's weapons, props, monsters and other miscellaneous objects.
Also, inexplicably, the only test map with a localized name.
Original Maps
The maps from the original PC/Mac version of Killing Time are present and ported to the remaster's UDMF map format in ogpcmaps.kpf. Running the game with the command line parameter -kpf ogpcmaps.kpf will let you play them in the remaster.
Unused Text
From the text strings for the Winged Vessels:
tessobjname_07 = "WHITE TESS DUMMY STRING" // Not used
Bonus Folder
The PC install of the game contains an additional folder, "bonus", containing some extra ephemera relating to the original PC release, in high quality and seemingly exported from the original print files:
- KT JC UK back.pdf: Back of the UK jewel case.
- KT manual cover UK.pdf: Front and back cover of the UK jewel-case manual.
- KT Manual US.pdf: The full US manual.
- KT_PC Ad.pdf: The "Some games are tough. This one's murder." magazine ad.
- KT_PC CD Face US.pdf: The artwork printed onto the CD itself, along with a whole lotta white space.
- KT_PC Jewelcase US.pdf: Back of the US jewel case.
- KT_PC Manual Cover US.pdf: Front and back cover of the US jewel-case manual. Effectively identical to its UK counterpart.
