This article is a work in progress.
...Well, all the articles here are, in a way. But this one moreso, and the article may contain incomplete information and editor's notes.

This is a sub-page of League of Legends.

Hmmm...
To do:
Get Client screen (if possible), HUDs, placeholder screens, etc.

This Beta is closer to the format found in Season 1 both in Data and in-game. It also had a functional shop. It was not quite as complete as the first public betas, but it was close.

General Notes

Client version is 0.9.22.14.

  • Still retains the Clash of Fates name and splash.
  • Contains an extra executable with pdb file named RiotLOL_Client_AB.exe and RiotLOL_Client_AB.pdb, respectively.
    • Opening them does nothing but show a splash screen.

Oddities

Development Screenshot

Strangely, a screenshot of a developer working on the game shipped with this beta installer.

  • Uses Windows XP.
  • Has presumably a developer name in the top left corner of the client.
  • Tabs open in the taskbar show a number of goodies.
    • _launcher_bet...
    • V0.12.10 Leag...: This is presumably a client revision with 2 more windows related to this tab, one being Chat Rooms.
    • order_concept...: An image of concept work on an unknown piece of the Order team.
    • 2 windows of AccuRev, which is advertised as software configuration management tool that addresses complex parallel and distributed development environments.
    • Adobe Photoshop, presumably showing this was an artist on the development team.

There's a file in Air\assets\images\windowedapplication that has the text BKGRND IS FPO inset and blurred into the image.

Champion Lore

A few HTML files exist detailing the lore of some champions. These exist for Cardmaster (now called Twisted Fate), Fiddlesticks and Ryze but other champions are missing.
Below you can find the text from these HTML files. Additionally, they feature White text on Black pages with each new line starting with an Orange letter except Ryze, whose lays on a white background with a black box instead of a whole Black page.

Champion Text
Cardmaster The banks of the Serpentine River are home to a smattering of gypsy communities. On any given day, you can see a flotilla of paddleboats migrating up and down the rushing waters. Though their homes are constantly on the move, their communities are very stable. The Serpentine gypsies live and die by a single code: If you are my friend, you are my family. If you are my foe, you have made enemies of us all.

The most famous of these gypsies is a man known as Twisted Fate. In cards, no matter what hand he is dealt, he always finds a way to come out on top. When asked how he does it, he smiles and says, It just takes a little fate.

But it isn't just his luck that makes him so famous. Just ask anyone who has accused him of cheating. They'll tell you he can kill a man dead at twenty paces - with nothing more than a playing card.

Fiddlesticks The plains on the outskirts of the Shurima desert have always been known as the voodoo lands. Dark magics flow over the landscape like a chilling breeze. The dried grasses rustle, and the cackles of those who dabble with this power float through the air.

There is a valley, just on the sandy edge of the desert. A powerful witch lives there, but not alone. It is said that she commands powerful magics that circle and batter this place. She transforms the energies into semi-living souls, trapping them inside the bodies of carefully crafted scarecrows.

Those who have been to the edge of that valley have seen the rows upon rows of shambling creatures. They have seen them dance and fight with each other. And they have fled in fright, for there are few sights more terrifying.

The witch has kept to herself for many long years. That is, until a few months ago, when she sent one of her creations out to warn the rest of the world.

Leaving the valley in the middle of the night, Fiddlesticks shambled across the desert and into the neighboring realms. He tormented and terrified all who looked upon him, and he smiled. For it is his job to be the harbinger, to bear the news of the impending doom.

Before the rest of his kind come out of the valley, all of Valoran will have been warned.

Ryze Raised from the age of two inside the Magi's Academy for Unpleasant Boys, Ryze has never really fit in with his peers. Though his disciplinary record might prove otherwise.

At the age of seven, Ryze snuck into the professors' quarters and used a bolt of electricity to singe the hair from the headmaster's prized poodle, Yipps. At nine, he mixed an ordinary laxative into a batch of fire breathing potion his chemistry teacher was preparing for a class field trip. At the age of twelve, he dismantled the school's zeppelin and reassembled it inside the library. Six months later, he was caught drawing runes of binding on every chair in the academy's auditorium. (It took two full days to unglue the entire student body after the Witches Day ceremony.)

The final straw came when Ryze picked a fight with the first year professors - all of them. Though none of the new teachers were permanently injured, the resulting blast knocked down an entire wing and crushed poor Yipps (whose hair never really grew back).

His welcome having worn out, Ryze left the academy to continue his education on his own. In the intervening years he has studied every magical text he could find, including the incredibly powerful Arc Scroll which he carries upon his back. He meticulously catalogs every spell he has encountered, going as far as tattooing the most rare and super powerful incantations directly onto his own skin. His studies have led him to the League of Legends, where he hopes he can continue to gather more arcane knowledge and grow his already impressive repertoire.

Sound

Painfully go through all the sounds in Air\assets\sounds. MANY unused and changed audio files are present.
Check \DATA\Sounds\FMOD for any duplicate or better quality copies of the above directory as they wont be in mp3 format if present.
Veigar is immediately different.
