SPCLTHNG password

Yep, that sure is a special thing, alright...

Entering SPCLTHNG (special thing) on the password screen sets bit $04 in RAM at $7E172D, which activates easter eggs in the game. The first known effect is the screenshot above. This giant cartoon dinosaur roams a hallway on Stage 1. At the beginning of the stage, go to the bottom of the stairs, pull the switch on the wall, and take the elevator up to the door.

Elementary, my dear Cactus.
This needs some investigation.
Discuss ideas and findings on the talk page.
Specifically: Look into Stage 3 for Easter Eggs.

There should also be an effect in Stage 3, which is currently unknown.

Cheat password

Password CHTCHTCH sets bit $01 in RAM at $7E172D. As the password suggests, this is a lives cheat.

Extra passwords

The password for the final stage is ZNDRNVSK, but entering any of the following "level change" passwords has the same effect:

LVLCNGJJ

LVLCNGKK

LVLCNGLL

A hint that a few extra levels were planned, but never created...?
