Mortal Kombat II at least improves on the previous port. Shame they had to cut 6 characters from the game.

Kintaro

There are two strings suggesting Kintaro was planned to be in the game. The first is the text "KINTARO WINS" at 0x008610. The second is his name among the other fighters at 0x008E36. Unfortunately, this is all that remains in the code for Kintaro. Trying to access his character index $08 with the GameShark code 010801DD will immediately crash the game.

Copyright String

Located at 0x03C000. This is the start of the sound driver. All Probe-developed games have a copyright string at the beginning of their sound code.

(C)Probe.

Playing as Jade and Smoke in Link Mode

Characters are fully playable via GameShark (no Special Moves and Finishers). However, codes works only in 2 Player (Link) Mode and after the match is finished, it might crash the game:

010A01DD -- Player 1 is Jade
010A41DD -- Player 2 is Jade
010B41DD -- Player 1 is Smoke
010B41DD -- Player 2 is Smoke
