In other versions of the games, these are used to access secret players by entering them at the name entry screen. Doing that here, however, results in nothing happening. That, coupled with the fact that all of the PINs are 0000, indicates that the secret players were cut from this version at some point during development for whatever reason. Also of note is that most, if not all, of the (planned) secret players are members of the development team: Carlos Pesina, John Carlton, Eugene Geer, Sal Divita, Mark Turmell, Nils Erik Hatlem, Glenn Kristofferson, Tommy Svensson, Tore Blystad, and Colin McMahon. The identities of JAPPLE and KRILLE are unknown.
