New Pokémon Snap |

Developer: Bandai Namco Studios This game has unused graphics. This game has a prerelease article |
22 years later, New Pokémon Snap puts you back into the ZERO-ONE NEO-ONE and behind the camera, on a tour across the Lental region with the Lental Research Team to learn about the Illumina phenomenon. Including a Timeskip Todd Snap as a key character (yes, seriously!). This game also has the honor of being the first Pokémon console game to be released in China after the console ban, with Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! coming soon after.

Unused Graphics
Pokémon Icons
common\UI\master\Textures\p_seitai contains a set of unused images of every Pokémon in the Lental Photodex, which uses fully animated models instead. common\UI\master\Textures\p_silhouette has a similar set of images, but in-game you only see them as silhouettes (though some were also used for the game's physical box). Besides Frillish and Dodrio, gender differences aren't depicted. Dodrio's sprites have different lighting and sizes from one another, suggesting the male sprites were made earlier as tests. Before version 2.0.0's release, 20 Pokémon entries contained a blank black square image. These black boxes would be filled in with version 2.0.0, being where the new Pokémon reside.
p900, p901 and p902
In p_silhouette, icons for a Crystabloom Flower, Ruins and "..." are found instead of more Male Dodrio sprites. As this causes both Pokémon icon folders to have exactly 555 images each, these icons might have been thrown in as filler junk images.
Unused Titles
A total of 12 title graphics exist within \common\UI\master\Textures\shogo.drp that weren't used. What's more, any reference to them in MySpaceTitle_Name.msbt (title names) and MySpaceTitle_Info (title unlock descriptions) was scrubbed, leaving no official name or unlock requirement left behind.
Title 55
Located between The Flying Photographer (54) and Moment of Calm (56) is a title for the Melody Player. By its appearance, it might've been rewarded for showing a certain amount of pictures where the Melody Player was used to make a Pokemon perform an action.
Title 60 and 61
Two titles placed before the Gold Collector and Diamond Collector titles. We can assume these would have been Bronze and Silver Collector, respectively.
Title 98
A title placed after Botanist (96) and Historian (97). Would likely be rewarded for researching all Crystabloom Flowers and Ruins.
Title 127 and 128
Two titles for Fluffruit located between Magnificent Pokémon Feeder (126) and Pokémon Lurer (129). Being located near player action titles, these might've been rewarded for throwing a certain number of Fluffruit.
Title 130, 131 and 132
Three more titles for the Melody Player that were unused, this time perhaps for playing the Melody Player a certain number of times. Any unlockable titles regarding the Melody Player are unused, it seems.
Title 133, 134 and 135
Three visually similar Illumina Orb titles located all right next to each other, near the other player action titles. Might've been rewarded for throwing a certain number of Illumina Orbs.
Regional Differences
To do:
|
As with other Video Games released in the region, the Mainland China version had to go through alterations before being approved for sale. It was built off the Simplified Chinese language in the International version with additional changes applied.

As expected the game's Logo is different between the English and Asia languages, but it looks like the Simplified Chinese logo still had to be altered for the Mainland China release. A Common trend in the Mainland China release is removing all English characters from any graphics or menus. This also affects two stickers with the logo.
Functions
The ability to change the game's language at the start of the game has been completely removed from the Chinese release. Mainland China Pokémon Snap can only be played in Chinese as opposed to other copies of the game, which let's you choose the language at the beginning.
Even moreso, the ability to see photos taken by players online from other regions has also been removed, now only allowing local region screenshots.
Similarly, the ability to report players while viewing photos online has been removed. It is likely the photos are reviewed before they can be seen online.

Some graphics used at the end of a stage have been changed to remove English vocabulary, although the New Discovery and Professor Mirror stamps also had other localised graphics even before the Mainland China release.

It Appears not even the act of sleeping is safe from the Chinese version's rule against English words as this sticker had to be changed to swap out the ZZZ for a Chinese word.

All the Sun graphics have been changed to replace the triangle sunrays with even more simplified small square ones. This was likely done to avoid comparisons with the Blue Sky with a White Sun logo.

Some tutorial screenshots had to be altered even further despite efforts to have everything ready for the Chinese release
- Between all screenshots any English character is removed.
- The scoring screenshot had to take a new photo of Vivillon due to the stamp graphic being changed and overlapping with the existing one.
- Online mode screenshot removes the ability to see global scores due to the feature being removed
