This page contains notes for the game Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn.

Unused Cutscenes

Hmmm...
To do:
Where were these found? Try reaching out to the original uploader.

Two early versions of certain in-game cutscenes have been found. Both cutscenes use placeholder textures and backgrounds, feature unfinished shading and graphical effects on the characters, and also feature two counters of unknown purpose. They are also totally silent.

Hmmm...
To do:
Replace the names given to each subheader with the proper filenames once they've been discovered.

Ike vs. the Black Knight

The first is an early version of the scene in which Ike confronts the Black Knight in the Tower of Guidance. The layout of the scene is exactly the same as in the final release, but animations and visual effects are clearly in a very primitive state.

Kurthnaga and the Castle

The second is an early version of the scene in Part 3 Chapter 13 in which Kurthnaga incinerates and destroys one of Castle Nox's towers. Compared to the previous cutscene, this one is in an even earlier stage of rendering, with Kurthnaga and castle being completely textureless. There are also far more soldiers running across the scene than in the final version, where only 1 or 2 of them can be briefly seen.

Widescreen Portraits

As the localizations for western markets added widescreen support, a new set of portraits were added to be displayed when the game is running at widescreen resolutions. As the Wii's frame buffer is always at a 4:3 ratio stretched when displayed on a widescreen display, these portraits are squished horizontally in the internal data such that they are the correct dimensions when stretched for widescreen. While the normal portraits are in \Face\, the widescreen variants are in \Face\wide\.

Alternate Tracks Absent from Sound Room

Some music tracks have alternate themes that play in-game but aren't available to be listened to in the Sound Room. Since these are hard to detect during a normal, lengthy playthrough, they have been collected here.

Filename Music Notes

Used during the introductory cutscene of Chapter 3-10.
fe10_bgm_evt_night1_cut1_32k.brstm
A variant of "Darkness Eternal" used during the introductory cutscene of Chapter 1-1. Both tracks are identical, and it is not currently known which is loaded in-game.
