Notes:Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne

From The Cutting Room Floor
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This page contains notes for the game Shin Megami Tensei III: Nocturne.

most of the stuff here is just assumed that ur using a memory editor to fuck around with the game, although some of the codes are raw codes, and some of them are even for the maniax edition. dw, its just a mess and its fine that way

Debug Options with Loading Mechanism

Code: '''2011BCD4''' for changing the value and '''205AD7C8''' for viewing the option when looking in the debug menu.
* 0 - Debug Menu
* 1 - Game Start
* 2 - Game Start
* 3 - Load Save
* 4 - Endsave test
* 5 - Normal Boot
* 6 - Nothing
    (Console: shutdown FileMentCalc!!
     start event!
     [-1,0x00][1,0x00][2,0x00][3,0x00][*6,0x00][-1,0x00][-1,0x00][-1,0x00])
* 7 - Has a lot of different submenus (X cancels and goes to debug menu).
* 8 - Debug Menu (Error?)
* 9  --.--
* 10 --.--
* 11 --.--
* 12 --.--
* 13 - Result Screen Test
* 14 - Nothing
* 15 - Staff Roll
* 16 - Press X for a surprise
* 17 - Broken Battle thing
* 18 - Battle Stage Test
* 19 - Nothing
* 20 - Event Test
* 21 - Event Viewer
* 22 - Nothing
* 23 - Script Test? (procedure start <script>) Screen is blank though
* 24 - Camp Test? (Blank Screen, X starts debug menu.) (Is suppose to be the menu where u change party formation ec.)
* 25 - Fusion Test
* 26 - Shop test
* 27 - RAG test
* 28 - Heal test
* 29 - Terminal Test (Undisclosed location)
* 30 - Level up test 2
* 31 - Name test (no music)
* 32 - Model Viewer? (Blank)
* 33 - Blank
* 34 - --.--
* 35 - --.--
* 36 - Puzzle Boy
* 37 - Puzzle Boy Editor (Hardlock)
* 38 - Movie Viewer (only plays first movie) (Blank)
* 39 - Debug Menu (Defunct debug option
* 40 --.--
* 41 --.--
* 42 --.--
* 43 --.--
* 44 - Nothing
* 45 --.--
* 46 --.--
* 47 --.--
* 48 --.--
* 49 Debug Menu (Defunct debug option)
* 50 --.--

the options that return to the debug menu are defunct debug options. it doesn't go any further than this.

a lot of debug options seem to loop back, meaning that a dev kit couldve been used under development or they were just disabled.

some debug options simply give you a black screen, but the functions are still there. if we could find a way to load them without loading a file, then it could be possible to use them without going into the debug menu.

maybe the debug menu just has a trigger or something that makes it work. idk

Puzzle Boy

there might be some unused puzzle boy map data inside the pb1 folder.

this pops up in the console everytime you go into a new part of puzzle boy.

shutdown pb-proc-clear!!
shutdown pb-load-mapdata!!
shutdown pb-draw-mycharacter!

if im correct, then it loads from the pb2 folder which has 20 elements (there are only 20 puzzle boy maps).

meanwhile the pb1 folder has 30 elements (mapdata). could these be unused?

i'll get around to repacking it later and showing it off on the article on a separate subpage if there is anything at all.

Areas

Todo: Fix a submap loading code and an area loading code, or maybe not... too lazy.

Cutscenes

  • Credits roll is in the .elf file.

remember that initiating those on a pure NG file will give other results and start it from the beginning.

also these were noted down with the maniax version because it has a few things that the vanilla version doesn't have. why not just have it on one page.
