Region Lockout/Anti Piracy

If the game detects it is being played on a European or Australian SNES, all button input will be disabled, making the game unplayable. This method is also used in Hashire Hebereke.

Normally without console modifications, this is impossible to do, as European SNES consoles contain a different CIC lockout chip which prevents the console from booting the cartridge at all. However through the use of devices such as cartridge copiers or flashcarts, this hardware lock can by bypassed and the software run directly, in which the software protection is triggered, most likely to prevent the game running outside of the intended region. No such protection is provided against USA users as the North American SNES shares the same CIC and basic hardware, but an unmodified SNES is unable to accept Super Famicom cartridges due to the presence of tabs in the cartridge slot.
