Developer: Fifth Column Games This game has unused code. |
This game is still under active development. Be aware that any unused content you find may become used or removed in the future. Please only add things to the article that are unlikely to ever be used, or went unused for some time. If they do get used, please remove them from the page and specify in the edit summary! |
Pawn Stars: The Game allows you to run your very own pawn shop on Facebook! It's too bad the game is unbelievably buggy and asks you to buy premium currency.

Demijohn
Modern demijohns resemble labratory equipment, and are usually made of polycarbonate with a spigot at the bottom.
This fact should be used, but a coding error puts some of the fourth fact into its spot.
Expert Dialogue
Early in development, using an expert to evaluate an item would have given a unique response depending on its authenticity. Even though the concept was removed (and replaced with generic lines), the dialogue still exists in the game's files. For example, the 1715 Spanish Fleet Coin;
expertsDialog="{real:'Oh yes, the 'L' here means Lima, Peru, and it's a mint eight, the largest denomination made. At 27.0 grams, I'd say it's worth __N__, roughly.',fake:'The strike on this coin is perfect, which actually is a cause for concern… Yes, unfortunately, this is a fake worth maybe __N__. What a shame.']"
After a certain point, the items leave out the 'fake' dialogue, replacing it with <void>. Some items remove the dialogue altogether, leaving this message in the 'real' dialogue box:
You shouldn't be seeing this!

Experts
The vehicle expert Matt has an earlier version of himself in the game's code. Many changes are present, most notably the fact that he has more, different skills.
<!--data id="" name="Mechanic Matt" encounter="shop" specialty="vehicle" description="I really specialize in motorcycles, but if it's got a body and an engine, I can fix it up. Doesn't matter whether it's got two wheels or eighteen!" iconUrl="swf/character/expert/Expert08Icon.swf" level="1" cashPrice="0" candyPrice="0" > <favor id="appraise" name="Appraise" description="Show me a vehicle and I can tell you what it's worth. I might even be able to find out something interesting." selectText="I can help you out with this. Here, let me show you..." smallValue="Nothing too surprising under the hood, but it's been checked out now, so the price goes up a little." largeValue="This thing's in way better shape than I thought. You're going to get a big payout." fakeValue="Oh boy. Looks like this isn't the model you thought it was. Basically a fake." xp="1" playerLevel="1" expertLevel="1"/> <favor id="speedRestoration" name="Speed Up Restoration" description="You're doing that all wrong. Here, let me show you a thing or two that will make this restoration go way faster." selectText="I can help you out with this. Here, let me show you..." finishText="Your restoration has been sped up!" xp="1" playerLevel="1" expertLevel="2"/> </data--> <!-- other favors... <favor id="reducedParts" name="Reduced Parts Cost" description="You know, there's a way to do that with a lot less parts. Here, let me show you." xp="2" playerLevel="2" expertLevel="1"/> <favor id="testDrive" name="Test Drive" description="If this car handles and performs well, you can sell it for more. Let's take this car out on the road and I can give you some notes." xp="3" playerLevel="3" expertLevel="3"/> <favor id="bonusParts" name="Bonus Parts" description="Thinking about scrapping that thing, huh? Let me take it apart and I can salvage way more usable parts than you can." xp="1" playerLevel="2" expertLevel="3"/> -->
In addition, Krista has partial coding for a third skill, "Rare Find";
favor id="rareFind" name="Rare Find" itemList="364" decorationList="82" description="Looking to expand your toy collection? Let me dip into my collection and see if I have anything I'm willing to part with." finishText="How about this?" xp="1" playerlevel="1" expertLevel="1"
Video Advertisements
v10308__mediaBrixAds.xml has some code for an advertisement template:
<data id="testFlex" type="flex" adUnit="aetn/PawnStars_flex" title="This is a test ad!" /> <data id="testViews" type="view" adUnit="aetn/PawnStars_views" title="This is also a test ad!" confirmText="Congrats, here's a thing" iconURL="/img/Img_Star100.png" rewardsBackgroundURL="/img/mediabrix/background.png"/>
In addition, there exists an unused type of advertisement which would allow the player to get another customer;
<data id="getCustomer" type="view" adUnit="aetn/PawnStars_views" title="Watch this ad to get another customer now." confirmText="Thanks! You have a new customer." iconURL="/img/feeds/Icon_HappyCustomer.jpg" rewardsBackgroundURL="/img/mediabrix/background.png"/>
Unused Items
Pawn Stars: The Game has three entries for items that go unused.
Antique Coca-Cola Machine
The Antique Coca-Cola Machine is the most complete item, and could be fully functional if it was added back into the game.
<data id="474" name="Antique Coca-Cola Machine" iconUrl="swf/item/AntiqueCocaColaMachineIcon.swf" roomUrl="swf/item/AntiqueCocaColaMachineRoom.swf" noSpawn="1" tag="tool, machine, coke, food" isShelfItem="0" isWallItem="0" isFloorItem="1" isRestorable="0" category="tools" roomTypes="rtDoor,rtNoDoor,rtVehicle,main,stock,parking" value="7500" sellTime="6000" xp="90" difficulty="56" randWeight=".44" level="7" expertsDialog="[real:'Coke is an american icon, and classic machines like this are big collector draws. You'll get about $__N__ for this one.',fake:'void']" factoids="['Atlanta, Georgia pharmacist John Pemberton formulated a medicinal coca wine which he named Pemberton's French Wine Coca in 1885. When Atlanta banned alcohol a year later, Pemberton reformulated the drink as Coca-Cola.', 'Within three years of its development, Coca-Cola was being distributed by three seperate businesses. The complex web of written and verbal contracts was a source of internal strife at the company for years.', 'The first bottled Coca-Cola was sold in 1891, and the first Coke vending machine rolled out in 1937.', 'The original formulation of Coca-Cola called for five ounces of coca leaf per gallon of syrup, or about nine milligrams of cocaine per glass consumed. The modern formula still includes coca leaves for flavor, but these have been stripped of cocaine.', 'In a 1915 contest held among Coca-Cola bottling companies, mold-maker Earl Dean's contoured bottle won out, hailed as something consumers woud recognize as Coke even in the dark.']" />
Badminton Cabinet
The Badminton Cabinet has placeholder facts, expert dialogue, and stats.
<data id="480" name="Badminton Cabinet" iconUrl="swf/item/BadmintonCabinetIcon.swf" roomUrl="swf/item/BadmintonCabinetRoom.swf" noSpawn="1" tag="furniture, britain" isShelfItem="0" isWallItem="0" isFloorItem="1" isRestorable="0" category="arts" roomTypes="rtDoor,rtNoDoor,rtVehicle,main,stock" value="36000000" sellTime="604800" xp="2937" difficulty="100" randWeight=".01" level="500" expertsDialog="[real:'PLACEHOLDER.',fake:'void']" factoids="['fact1','fact2','fact3','fact4','fact5']" />
1965 Shelby Cobra
The least complete of the items, the Shelby Cobra would have been a restorable item.
<data id="481" name="1965 Shelby Cobra" iconUrl="swf/item/1965ShelbyCobraIcon.swf" roomUrl="swf/item/1965ShelbyCobraRoom.swf" noSpawn="1" tag="vehicle, car" isShelfItem="1" isWallItem="0" isFloorItem="1" isRestorable="1" category="vehicles" roomTypes="rtDoor,rtNoDoor,rtVehicle,parking" value="" sellTime="" xp="" difficulty="" randWeight="" level="" expertsDialog="[real:'PLACEHOLDER.',fake:'void']" factoids="['fact1','fact2','fact3','fact4','fact5']"
