There are a lot of leftover animations from the previous 3DS games.

Player And Partner

First Evoluton Form

ev021_depress

ev021_depress is an animation that was used for starter Pokemon in Super Mystery Dungeon. It is used in the Dark Matter battle when the player and partner return to their first evolution forms, leaving them in a weakened state.

ev026_doya

ev026_doya is an animation used for starter Pokemon in Super Mystery Dungeon. It shows the Pokemon putting their hands on their hips in a proud manner (four-legged Pokemon will only have their head up instead). This animation is used in the final cutscene when you beat Dark Matter and return to the Pokemon world. It is also the partner's proud pose.

ev003_relax

ev003_relax is an animation used for starter Pokemon in Super Mystery Dungeon. It shows the Pokemon sitting down and looking at the sky. It is used for a cutscene where the player and partner Pokemon sit on a hill in Serene Village. 05 and 06 are duplicates of 03 and 04.

ev001_gasagasa

ev001_gasagasa is an animation used in dungeons in Super Mystery Dungeon. It is used for picking up and pulling items.

ev013_start

ev013_start is an animation for when you eat dinner at the Expedition Society.

ev018_kneeattache

ev018_kneeattache is an animation used for a cutscene in Super Mystery Dungeon. It's used after the Entei fight where the player is knocked out.

ev026_finish

ev026_finish is an animation used for a cutscene in Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used for when the player is trying to do the final blow on Dark Matter.

ev015_evolve

ev015_evolve is an animation used for a cutscene in Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when the player and partner Pokemon are evolving into their final forms using their Harmony Scarves.

ev026_relax

Similar to ev003_relax, but this time it is only used by the partner for when the partner is talking to the player about the truth of them being Mew.

ev013_avoid

While ev013_avoid is a used animation, parts of the animation numbered 03 and 04 go unused. These said animations were used when the player gets knocked out by the partner during school, it's also used when the player and partner are sent flying to go into the Door of Light to get out of the Voidlands before it is too late, and also used when Ampharos knocks the partner out in the ending on accident.

ev001_sleep

ev001_sleep only uses 01 02 in-game, leaving 00 unused. It is a transition for the said animation.

ev015_wakeup00

ev015_wakeup00 is a waking up animation, in which was used in Super Mystery Dungeon only. DX instead uses ev110_wakeup instead.

ev018_lies00

A guarding animation, used for when Dark Matter is taking the power away from the Player and Partner. The game doesn't use this animation, and instead uses ev104_guard. A very similar but shorter animation. Or just simply ev018_lies00loop without the beginning animation.

Final Evolution Form

ev015_evolve

ev015_evolve is an animation used for a cutscene in Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used after the player and partner Pokemon evolve into their final forms using their Harmony Scarves.

ev018_lies00

A guarding animation, used for when Dark Matter is taking the power away from the Player and Partner. The animation is semi-used for the post-game chapter of bringing Gengar to Ninetales if you evolved your main character to their final evolution form, in which it uses ev018_lies00loop rather than this beginning transition.

ev001_down

A knocked out animation ending with the Pokemon getting back up, was used when you fail a dungeon in Tree of Life: Roots and Tree of Life: Trunk.

ev018_attack

A attacking animation, used for when the player tries to attack Dark Matter after you defeat it in the first battle.

Nuzleaf

ev001_down

A knocked out animation, ending with the Pokémon getting back up. A portion of the animation can be seen in the "Secret of the Makuhita Dojo" pre-release video.

ev016_bow

ev016_bow is an animation used for Nuzleaf in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon.

ev001_dogeza

A begging animation, used when Nuzleaf is begging you to go into his house in Serene Village.

ev018_shadow

ev018_shadow is an animation used for Nuzleaf in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when Nuzleaf is revealed to be the one who is turning other Pokemon into stone.

ev024_pain

Used for when Nuzleaf and the group are in control by Dark Matter.

ev016_lookup

Used for when Nuzleaf reveals that he is the one turning the Pokémon to stone.

ev025_attack

A punching animation, that is used for when Nuzleaf tries to attack Dark Matter to save the player and partner.

ev025_blown

Used when Dark Matter pushes them away after being attacked.

ev025_tired

Used when Nuzleaf tries to apologize to the Player and Partner, before he gets turned into stone.

sb001_cry

A crying animation.

Beedrill

Since Beedrill is one of the bosses in Super Mystery Dungeon, animations of it being knocked out and getting back up are leftover.

ev005_down

ev005_rise

Entei

ev015_down

This animation was used in Super, when Entei gets defeated when you beat it in a boss battle. Entei does not fall down when it gets defeated in DX, making this animation unused.

Mew

sb001_doya

The partner's proud pose from Super Mystery Dungeon, but now it's Mew that is doing it.

sb001_fall

A knocked out animation, ending with the Pokémon getting back up. Used when you fail a story dungeon when you have Mew around in that previous game.

sb001_sleep

A sleeping animation, used for when Mew sleeps in the player's bedroom.

sb001_yawn

A yawning animation, used for when Mew gets tired. And prepares to sleep.

Ampharos

ev012_point is an animation used for Ampharos in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when Ampharos is pointing at something.

ev006_pose

ev006_pose is an animation used for Ampharos in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when Ampharos is doing his signature pose, which is also known in official artwork for the game.

ev014_eat

ev014_eat is an animation used for Ampharos in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when Ampharos is eating the apples.

ev012_depress

ev012_depress is an animation used for Ampharos in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used for when Ampharos is sad

Farfetch'd

ev008_scare is an animation used for Farfetch'd in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when Farfetch'd is scared of something.

Mawile

ev015_battle

ev015_battle is an animation used for Mawile in a cutscene from Super Mystery Dungeon. It’s used when Mawile is ready to battle a boss.

Latios

Used for a cutscene in the Postgame of Super Mystery Dungeon, where Latios and Latias are flying.

Deoxys

These two animations are used in Super Mystery Dungeon's opening cutscene.
