This is a sub-page of Prerelease:Antonball Deluxe.

A few weeks before the game's release, a stream was held on Twitch revealing the game's online mode. The build in this footage is listed as Version 1006, and has a few minor differences.

Online Menu

  • The top header reads "Antonline", compared to the game's final "Online". Although a good pun, this was removed due to Antonline already being trademarked. A reference to this name can still be found in the final game, with the background being titled bg_antonline.
  • The lobby screen wasn't formatted properly. One of the developers mentioned during the stream this needed some extra work.

Character Select

  • Players 3 and 4 are missing their tags, these exact tags go unused in the SAGE & Steam demos.
  • There's no prompt for players to leave or rebind the controls.
  • The character selection noise still uses the sound from the SAGE & Steam demos.
  • Nina's portrait has some differences, having bigger pupils, a different hairstyle and a pointy thumb.

  • The bottom scrolling text is from the Antonball / Punchball campaign.

VS. Levels

  • The Sewer background is slightly different, having the pipes in a different location and sized differently.

  • The water rippling effect in Beach Brawl is more visible.
  • Gundrops and triple ball drops don't have their icons, instead showing their brick counterpart.
  • The win-lose counter font uses the prompt / pause menu font.
  • The Rematch option is still there, which was removed from the final game.

Antonball Levels

  • None of the levels have coins or gundrops.
  • The triple ball and ghost bricks are flipped for some reason.
  • Phase 2 has no triple or gun bricks.
  • Phases 2, 3 and 5 have no alternating wall skribbles.
  • The bonus phases still use the old background and tiles. This was mentioned during the stream.
  • Intermission 1 still uses its early sprites.
  • Phase 12 has a completely different and more crude design for Annie's face.

Misc

  • Annie can't turn around for some reason. The other characters can.
  • The pause menu still has the Restart option, something that was in the SAGE & Steam demos, but was removed from the final game.
  • The only displayed funny icon shows Nash from Crash Nitro Kart, a placeholder of course.
