This page sucks.
If you could make it suck less, that would be awesome.
Hmmm...
To do:
The Driv3r Bonus DVD has trailers from mid 2002 to early 2004. Add them here. The Press Demo from February 2004 was found and acquired through the Obscure Gamers website earlier this year and looks VERY different to the final game in nearly every aspect. There are videos on YouTube which showcase these aspects. Add these here too.

Name

The game was originally titled Driver 3 before it was changed to DRIV3R. In the very first trailer and "Reflections' Next Project" video in the Stuntman video game when both videos end the early logo can be seen.

Cutscenes

  • Tanner was meant to park a V-8 in the garage instead of a Dart Retaliator during The Hit. This can be seen in all the trailers ending.
  • In the "Reflections' Next Project" video Tanner can be seen walking in a rich-looking hall and for a few seconds he can be seen shooting and entering an elevator. It's unknown if they are actually unused cutscenes, however.
  • In a pre-release screenshot a gun can be seen pointed behind The Gator's head using the cutscene graphics.

Characters

  • Tanner originally wore his Driver 2 suit. His early cutscene model can be seen in the elevator scene of Trapped.
  • Calita's clothes were different.

Vehicles

  • The Bruiser's front end was strikingly similar to Mustang Boss 429's. Also it had a white color with a blue stripe. It can be seen in early trailers. It changed possibly because of licensing issues with the realistic car crashes.
  • The TT Cuatro SuperPower was planned to be in Istanbul and featured an entirely different paint job. It can be seen in a trailer being crashed into.

Graphics

  • The sun was more intense.
  • The coloring of the game was slightly brighter and looked better in Stuntman's 2002 preview video for DRIV3R.
  • Night time was more realistic.
