This page details pre-release information and/or media for Half-Life: Blue Shift (PC).

So very stubbly.
This page is rather stubbly and could use some expansion.
Are you a bad enough dude to rescue this article?
Notes: Make sure that anything specifically related to the Dreamcast version is kept on it's on page.
Hmmm...
To do:
  • Provide more detail about the early trailer (i.e. when it was released, what maps are featured, other differences etc.)
  • Look into other trailers.
  • Find more prerelease info.

Early Trailer

An early trailer of Blue Shift when it was known as Half-Life: Guard Duty. A graphic of this early title still exists in the final game.

  • The trailer features the original Half-Life's orange UI ported over, rather than the blue in final.
  • Many levels are ported wholesale from the original game as well, possibly as placeholders. These levels include:
    • c1a2a from Office Complex during the 0:28 timestamp.
    • c3a2d from Lambda Core during the 0:32 timestamp.
  • The security guard lockers are colored army-green with no developer name tags on them.
  • The flashlight is shown as an item rather than how it acts in the final.
  • The HD Models didn't exist at this point.

Trailer 1

A much later trailer for Blue Shift that was released on 30 March 2001, a month before the game released. This trailer also includes trailers for Opposing Force's CTF mode and HD Pack.
