Gamespot
E3 2007
This E3 build video has numerous differences over the final version.
- Some game effects (including the shadows and smoke) were look different before they went downgraded in final version.
- Better damage models.
- Race countdown was different, probably leftover from carbon's canyon duel version but updated.
- The totaled screen was entirely different.
- Aki's RX-7 was different.
- Vehicle mechanics are slightly different compared to the final release.
- Turn signs were originally yellow than white in final.
- Different scoreboard.
- The pause menu is different and had the blurred screen background.
- No background and tips during the loading screen.
- There's no DJ appearance at the stage.
In the map, there was (a):
- Different balloons and led screens.
- A billboard that said the game was supposed going to be released on November rather than October.
- Different checkpoint.

The video includes an cut drag HUD element that appeared at the lower left of the screen during mid-race, which gave info about shift timing.

Other
- A stock RX-7 with Aki's livery. This could either imply that he was once not the Drift King, or it may simply be a car made specifically for promotion.
- The Nissan GTR Proto's original stock color was black instead of white.
