E3 2007

This E3 build video has numerous differences over the final version.

  • Some game effects (including the shadows and smoke) were look different before they went downgraded in final version.
  • Better damage models.
  • Race countdown was different, probably leftover from carbon's canyon duel version but updated.
  • The totaled screen was entirely different.
  • Aki's RX-7 was different.
  • Vehicle mechanics are slightly different compared to the final release.
  • Turn signs were originally yellow than white in final.
  • Different scoreboard.
  • The pause menu is different and had the blurred screen background.
  • No background and tips during the loading screen.
  • There's no DJ appearance at the stage.

In the map, there was (a):

  • Different balloons and led screens.
  • A billboard that said the game was supposed going to be released on November rather than October.
  • Different checkpoint.

Drag Race

Hmmm...
To do:
Find the high quality version of the video if possible.

The video includes an cut drag HUD element that appeared at the lower left of the screen during mid-race, which gave info about shift timing.

Other

  • A stock RX-7 with Aki's livery. This could either imply that he was once not the Drift King, or it may simply be a car made specifically for promotion.
