This is a sub-page of Prerelease:Pokémon Red and Blue.

Various bits of data related to Pokémon, be it moves, encounter rates, or even evolutionary data.

Evolutionary Requirements

Found in SHINKA.SAV, as opposed to the final games' SHINKA.DAT, is this file which documents both early evolution data, as well as early learnsets. "Shinka" simply translates to "Evolution", and while the .sav lacks a date, we know that the .dat was finalized on November 25th 1995, three month prior the games' release. The evolution-related portion of the early .sav file is as follows:

Movesets

Only around half of the Pokémon entries in SHINKA.SAV have a moveset associated with them, and as such only the entries with one will be listed below for the sake of clarity. What's extremely odd is that the number of moves listed here exceeds the 165 that was seen in even the earliest movelist file, reaching a total of 237 entries. The moves linked to these entries are unknown, though via some cross-referencing, a possible reconstruction of the aforementioned "237 List" was made, and will be provided below:

The Pokémon League is listed as having a dungeon consisting of several basement floors. Moreover, the map section of the original leak reveals that the League was originally found in the Silph Co. building. All the floors reuse previous dungeons' rates (or what appear to be earlier versions of some of them), with the first floor using a duplicate of the early Viridian Forest rates. However, all the levels were raised significantly, fitting with the idea of a final dungeon.

Two really interesting entries to conclude this file! As seen in unused maps, Silph Co. once featured a secondary area which would have been a sort of gauntlet where the player would have to defeat trainers as they ascend. The fact this is the only floor with wild Pokémon seems to infer that this was the final floor which, while missing from the leaks, would have seemingly be some sort of artificial wild area built indoor. In terms of the available Pokémon, this area is namely shocking due to it listing none other than Mewtwo as a regular encounter, who in the final games was turned into a static encounter in the Cerulean Cave.

33 No34
None Mr. Mime
Krabby
Kingler
"Number 34" corresponds to Onix internally. This could mean that this might have been its original cry, or that the Pokémon it was created for was eventually overwritten by Onix, therefore leaving the cry unused.
34 No36
None Psyduck
Golduck
Bellsprout
Same as Onix's case, but in this case, "Number 36" corresponds to Pidgey.
35 Dog
Rattata MissingNo. (79)
Raticate
May have been originally intended for Growlithe, which is nearby in the index list and is basically called "Guard doggie" in Japanese. Interestingly, the earliest user of this cry in the internal list is a fish-like MissingNo. that was ultimately scrapped. However, this MissingNo. doesn't use the "original" cry. In the final game, this cry was instead assigned to Rattata.

38 Eleking

Eleking is, once again, an Ultraman series kaiju.
