Spaceworld 1997

Footage from Spaceworld 1997 shows off an early version of the game, while it was on the Nintendo 64DD.

Early Models

Of the six seen in the footage, Blastoise and Charizard seem to use their final models, while the rest look crude in comparison.

Animations

  • Blastoise has a kicking animation that it does not perform in the final game.

Early HUD

This shows an early HUD seen in some trailers, where Pokémon face the screen. The battle command menu is also not seen in the final game, instead having a system that allows moves to be hidden.

Early Menus

This shows off the Pokédex and Status Menus for Pokémon. They're slightly different from the final game, with Rattata having a very early model.

Early Animations

Early battle animations, featuring Blastoise using Hydro Pump and Charizard using Fire Spin. A unique camera angle not seen in the final game is also visible.
